Professional Activities

In his 40-year global business career, Mr. Pappacena has worked in over 50 countries and held executive leadership roles at global, regional, and country levels.  

He has advised executive teams of global and multinational companies in North America, Europe, Latin America, and Asia, in business strategy, business model innovation, digital transformation, geopolitical strategy, organizational change, and leadership development.  

He was a member of PwC’s global leadership team.  As PwC’s Chief Global Strategist, he led the firm’s global strategic positioning and alignment, strategic acquisitions, global brand strategy, and geopolitical risk management across 150+ countries worldwide.  He architected PwC’s business model transformation strategy, developing digital and global service delivery capabilities and building a 20,000-person team across India, China, Southeast Asia, North and Latin America, and Eastern Europe.

As CEO of Cani Investments, he translates macro trends into strategic investments in marketable securities, alternative assets, and digital startups.  He is also a board member of private and start-up companies and a senior investment advisor to private equity firms.

He is a Strategy & International Business Professor at Florida International University’s Graduate School of Business, where he has won the Best Professor and Best Course awards for seven consecutive years.  Leveraging his global expertise as a business and geopolitical strategist, Mr. Pappacena’s seminars help executives think critically about macro trends at the intersection of geopolitics, economics, globalization, and technology, focusing on the impact of these trends on business and investment decisions. 

His insights and opinions are featured regularly in US and international media outlets.

Mr. Pappacena holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business (Beta Gamma Sigma honors) and an Economics & Accounting degree from the University of Buenos Aires (highest honors).  He has completed advanced specialization programs in global strategy, international economics, and global leadership at the Harvard Business School, the MIT Sloan School of Management, and the INSEAD Blue Ocean Strategy Institute.
