Message from the Dean

The 2022 – 2023 academic year brought a new sense of community to Florida International University’s College of Business (FIU Business).

The campus was buzzing again and our students, faculty, staff, alumni and other friends in the community were fully engaged with one another.

The strengths of our faculty and students continue to be shown in competition wins, in rankings and in other ways in 2022 – 2023. Our four-year undergraduate student graduation rate rose to nearly 63.2%, up from 29% in 2016. Our undergraduate international business program was ranked No. 2 by U.S. News & World Report for the fourth consecutive year. U.S. News also ranked our international MBA program at No. 4, up from No. 5 the year before. And FIU Business was ranked No. 1 in the world for real estate research productivity by the Journal of Real Estate Literature for the third year in a row.

RESEARCH AT FIU BUSINESS

As part of an R1 top-tier research institution, FIU Business creates innovative business research that shapes business practice and influences public policy. In the fall of 2022, FIU Business was ranked No. 1 in the world for real estate research productivity by the Journal of Real Estate Literature, surpassing the well-known National University of Singapore for the top spot internationally. For 2022 to 2023, the college was ranked No. 4 in the U.S. for publications in the Journal of International Business Studies, one of the most important journals in the field. Papers by faculty across the seven departments at FIU Business continued to be accepted and published in leading journals in the 2022 – 2023 academic year.
