Professional Activities

Rong (Emily) Liu is an associate professor of information systems. She received her PhD in information systems from Pennsylvania State University and spent over a decade as a research staff member at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center. Prior to joining FIU, she was an associate professor at Stevens Institute of Technology.

Her research interests span artificial intelligence, deep learning, health informatics, blockchain and FinTech. Her research has been published at MIS Quarterly, Production and Operations Management, and Decision Support Systems, among others. Her publications have been cited over 5,000 times, and she holds 19 patents (Google Scholar).
