Professional Activities
I am currently an Assistant Teaching Professor and the Co-Director of the ATOM Think Tank within the Information Systems and Business Analytics Department at the College of Business. Prior to becoming an Assistant Teaching Professor, I held a number of administrative and IT positions throughout the University for the past 26 years. Positions that I held were Network Infrastructure Engineer, Project Management Office Director and Business Continuity Manager. During my administrative roles at FIU, I was also an adjunct for 18 years having taught both undergraduate and graduate courses. Courses that I have taught have been in Strategic Management, Project Management, Security Risk Management and Organizational Cyber Resilience , Business Statistics and Analytics, Information Systems Management, First Year Experience, Strategies for Student Success and Introduction to Honors and Leadership. I am a three time graduate from Florida International University having earned a Doctoral degree in Business Administration, Master of Science in Finance and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. I am a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI), American Society of Quality (ASQ) and Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA). I currently possess a professional project management certification - PMP (Project Management Professional) from the PMI. I believe my passion about FIU reflects in my years of University service and committment to serving our community. I have been a member of FIU’s Commencement Committee for over 12 years and continue to serve in a number of academic committees. I also serve as a faculty mentor for the Association of Information (AIS) Student Chapter as well as an advisor to the Department of Access, Compliance, and Equal Opportunity (ACE) FIU-105 Hearing Process. I have previously served as a mentor in the Fostering Panther Pride Program as well as a member in the University’s Access and Equity Committee.
