For initial evaluation of your file as an international applicant, we will be able to accept scanned copies of all transcripts, translations, diplomas, and test results. Upon admission, you will be required to submit official documents from the issuing party to finalize your offer of admission.

Once your application has been submitted, it will be reviewed by our Graduate Enrollment and Retention Management team and the admission committee. You will be updated by your enrollment advisor throughout this process of any pending items and next steps.

Transcripts, Diplomas, Translations

FIU requires college/university transcripts from all previously attended institutions.

If admitted, official transcripts must be sent directly to FIU by all formerly attended institutions in a sealed university envelope. Students who graduated from non-U.S.-based institutions are required to provide a copy of the proof of degree/diploma.

If your transcript and diploma are not in English, you must also submit an official English-language translation of both the transcript and degree. Some translation agencies can be found here, but there are many options available and you can choose outside of this list.

If you have a question regarding the requirements based on your country of study, please contact cobglobal@fiu.edu for more information.

NOTE: Transcripts become FIU property once submitted. FIU will not return transcripts to the applicant nor forward transcripts to any other institution. Please do not send us your original transcript/diploma if no other copy exists.

Test Results (GRE, GMAT, English Proficiency)

If you studied outside of the United States, you are required to show proof of English proficiency. A list of approved English proficiency test options can be found by selecting English Proficiency Requirements from the menu.

Depending on your professional and academic qualifications, you may be required to take the GRE or GMAT exam to strengthen your profile. Please refer to your intended program’s website for clarification on minimum scores and waiver options. If you are required to take the GRE or GMAT exam, the score must be reported to FIU direct from the testing agency. FIU’s institution code is 5206.
