Dr. Nancy Richmond is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Department of Marketing and Logistics and Co-Chair of the AI Teaching Forum at Florida International University's College of Business. She is a professor, speaker, and author whose work sits at the intersection of AI, digital media, and human connection. She has spent 20+ years asking one question. How do humans stay connected and purposeful in a fast-changing digital world? Her background is multidisciplinary by design, with degrees in business, counseling, and education. She brings the strategic insight of a marketing professor, the pattern recognition of a researcher, and the voice of a sought-after speaker to her work. Her research and applied work blend digital strategy, AI, and human-centered leadership with real-world case studies and practical insight for the workplace.

As Co-Chair of the AI Teaching Forum at FIU's College of Business, Dr. Richmond leads faculty initiatives on responsible AI integration in business education. She co-designed FIU's first course in AI Marketing and often pilots new technology in her classroom. Her work examines how generative AI can enhance learning, productivity, and decision-making without compromising critical thinking or ethical practice.

Dr. Richmond teaches courses in marketing, AI, brand management, digital media strategy, social media marketing, and personal branding. Her pedagogy is grounded in experiential learning, built on the premise that students learn digital strategy by doing. Her courses bring industry leaders into the classroom, connect students with real-world case studies, and integrate human and digital skills to prepare students for the future of work. She integrates social responsibility into the classroom, where students learn about cause marketing, video production, and social media. Each semester, she hosts a competition where students create videos on a variety of causes, including environmental conservation, ocean pollution, food insecurity, mental health and wellness, and stress management.

Dr. Richmond has delivered keynotes, workshops, and trainings locally, nationally, and globally. She speaks to business professionals, entrepreneurs, and digital media and marketing professionals. She also works with technology and hospitality leaders, government and diplomacy professionals, healthcare leaders, lawyers, educators and students. She has spoken and worked with teams at MIT, Harvard, Northeastern University, Boston University, Campbell Soup Company, Sam's Club, and NBC 6/Telemundo. Her insights have been featured in CBS, NBC, the Wall Street Journal, and the New York Times. She serves on the Board of the World Happiness Foundation, where she hosted the World Happiness Fest at FIU's Biscayne Bay Campus in 2023 and 2024, convening over 1,200 attendees from more than 23 countries.

Dr. Richmond is a firm believer in harnessing the power of technology and uniting people to help tackle significant challenges in business, our communities, and the world for social good. She has traveled the globe extensively, drawing on cross-cultural experiences through her work and teaching. Two decades in, she is still asking that question, and still working alongside students, leaders, and organizations to explore how technology can support, rather than replace, human connection, purpose, and well-being.
