Professional Activities
Kelly Huang is an associate professor in accounting at the FIU College of Business. Her research focuses on the economic consequences of financial information quality and the quality of information produced by agents, such as financial analysts, top executives, and rank-and-file employees. Professor Huang’s work has been published in academic journals such as The Accounting Review, Review of Accounting Studies, and Accounting, Organizations, and Society.
Professor Huang has a variety of teaching experience in financial accounting at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. She has taught introductory accounting and financial statement analysis courses in the MBA programs, intermediate accounting and international accounting in the undergraduate and MACC programs, and financial accounting seminars in the doctoral program.
Professor Huang holds a Ph.D. in accounting from Georgia State University and a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Prior to joining FIU, she was a faculty member at the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa. Before pursuing her doctoral study, she worked in public accounting and was a CPA in the State of Hawaii.
