Graduate Scholarships

A number of substantial scholarships are available for the MSIRE Downtown and the MSIRE Online programs. Decisions on these scholarships are competitively merit based and based on scholarship availability and applicant ability and potential. Early application is best for consideration. The university also offers scholarships from the Jerome Bain Endowed Scholarship Fund.

In addition to these scholarships, students have also earned scholarships administered by the South Florida CCIM Chapter, SIOR, Appraisal Institute and Florida Realtors. These latter scholarships are not directly administered by Florida International University.

• Miami Association of Realtors (MAR) Scholarship

  The Miami Association of Realtors (MAR) Scholarship in the amount of $5,000 based upon availability is made available by the Chapman Graduate School of Business for students affiliated with Miami Realtors. In order to be considered for the scholarship, the prospective students must have applied and have been admitted to MSIRE and must be a member in good standing of Miami Realtors at the time of application to the MSIRE Program. The award will be based on competitive merit and will be selected from applicants for the scholarship. Applicants will provide a short (no more than 500 word statement) on how they would benefit from the scholarship and the MSIRE Program. Additional documentation other than that required under the normal application process is required (see application form) such as proof of Miami Association Realtors membership in good standing. Prospective students must submit their scholarship application package 8 weeks prior to the start of the program be considered for this scholarship.

• Jerome Bain Endowed Scholarship

  Scholarship of up to $2,500 based upon availability is made available by the Jerome Bain Endowed Scholarship Fund. The award is based on competitive merit and will be selected from prospective students that have applied and have been admitted to the MSIRE Program. Applicants will provide a short (no more than 500 word statement) on how they would benefit from the scholarship and the MSIRE Program. Additional documentation other than that required under the normal application process is not required. Prospective students must submit their scholarship application package 8 weeks prior to the start of the program to be considered for this scholarship.

• ULI Scholarship

  The ULI Scholarship in the amount of $5,000 based upon availability is made available by the Chapman Graduate School of Business for students affiliated with the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Southeast Florida/Caribbean District Council. The award is based on competitive merit and will be selected from prospective students that have applied and have been admitted to the MSIRE Program and in order to be considered for the scholarship, the prospective student must be a member in good standing of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Southeast Florida/Caribbean District Council at the time of application to the MSIRE Program. The award will be based on competitive merit and will be selected from applicants for the scholarship. Applicants will provide a short (no more than 500-word statement) on how they would benefit from the scholarship and the MSIRE Program. Additional documentation other than that required under the normal application process is required (see application form) such as proof of ULI membership in good standing. Prospective students must submit their scholarship package application 8 weeks prior to the start of the program to be considered for this scholarship.

• ICSC Scholarship

  The ICSC Scholarship in the amount of $5,000 based upon availability is made available by the Chapman Graduate School of Business for students affiliated with the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). In order to be considered for the scholarship, the prospective student must have applied and have been admitted to the MSIRE Program and must be a member in good standing of International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) at the time of application to the MSIRE Program. The award will be based on competitive merit and will be selected from applicants for the scholarship. Applicants will provide a short (no more than 500 word statement) on how they would benefit from the scholarship and the MSIRE Program. Additional documentation other than that required under the normal application process is required (see application form) such as proof of ICSC membership in good standing. Prospective students must submit their scholarship application package 8 weeks prior to the start of the program to be considered for this scholarship.

• CBRE Scholarship

  At least one scholarship in the amount of $5,000 based upon availability for students who are full-time CBRE employees. Employees can be at any location and can take the course of study using any of the delivery methods. In order to be considered for the scholarship, the prospective student must submit a letter from HR confirming they are full-time CBRE employees at the time of application.

• Baptist BHE Real Estate Employee

  At least one scholarship in the amount of $5,000 based upon availability for students who are full-time Baptist Real Estate employees. In order to be considered for the scholarship, the prospective student must submit a letter from HR confirming they are full-time Baptist Real Estate employees at the time of application.

• Merit Scholarship

  This scholarship was designed to reward individuals who have shown exemplary academic and work achievements.

  To be eligible for the scholarship:

  • Individual must have been recently admitted into the program
  • Current enrolled students are not eligible for this scholarship.

  Must meet one of the following requirements:

  • Minimum upper-division GPA of 3.25 and a GMAT score of 600, or
  • Minimum upper-division GPA of 3.25 and a GRE score of 158 on the quantitative section and 160 on the verbal section, or
  • Real Estate & Finance undergraduate degree with a 3.5 upper-division GPA with proof of community service, internship, or extra-curricular involvement, or
  • Ten years of real estate related work experience with a minimum GPA of 3.25 upper-division coursework, or
  • Previously earned a master’s degree with a 3.5 GPA, alongside a 3.25 upper-division GPA in undergraduate real estate or finance coursework

  Meeting minimum eligibility requirements does not guarantee scholarship.

• ICSC - Rufrano Family Scholarship

  Award: $7,500

  To support graduate students interested in retail real estate. Funds will be used for tuition assistance. Each scholarship recipient must participate in ICSC’s mentorship program. Recipient must support participation in ICSC-related events and programs.
