FIU Honors College and College of Business launch Professional MBA Pathway and scholarship for high-achieving students

MIAMI (June 15, 2026) - Florida International University is expanding opportunities for its highest-achieving students through a new partnership between the FIU Honors College and the FIU Chapman Graduate School of Business.

The colleges have established the Honors College Professional MBA Pathway, an initiative designed to provide Honors students with a clear and supported transition from undergraduate studies to graduate business education. The agreement was signed in April by Honors College Dean Juan Carlos Espinosa and College of Business Dean William Hardin, with the first cohort set to begin this fall.

The pathway reflects FIU's commitment to creating innovative academic experiences that help students accelerate their professional goals while remaining part of the FIU community.

“Our Honors students bring exceptional talent, ambition and leadership potential to this program, and they will benefit from the transformative opportunities and world-class resources offered by the nation’s top 10-ranked MBA program,” Espinosa said.

Through the new pathway, Honors College graduates who enroll in the Professional MBA program will be eligible to receive scholarships of up to $10,000. The initiative is intended to attract and retain top-performing students and provide them with a competitive advantage as they enter the workforce.

As employers increasingly seek graduates with advanced leadership, analytical and business skills, the pathway creates a seamless progression for students interested in continuing their education while building credentials that can enhance career growth and earning potential.

“This partnership reflects our shared commitment to investing in student success,” said Hardin. “The Professional MBA Pathway provides high-achieving Honors students with a seamless transition to graduate business education, meaningful scholarship support and the advanced skills needed to lead and compete in today’s rapidly evolving marketplace.”

The partnership also supports FIU's broader vision of preparing students to thrive in a rapidly evolving global economy. By connecting the Honors College's emphasis on intellectual curiosity, interdisciplinary learning and leadership development with the Chapman Graduate School of Business's focus on professional preparation and industry engagement, students will benefit from a comprehensive educational experience that spans both undergraduate and graduate study.

The new pathway further positions FIU as a leader in student-centered innovation by reducing barriers between degree programs and creating opportunities for talented students to continue their academic journey at the university.

Additional options for undergraduate career advancement include the Honors College pre-health pathways, which offer high-achieving students streamlined opportunities to transfer to the FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine’s Physician Assistant and M.D. programs.
