  • What will I earn at the conclusion of the program?

    FIU Executive Education offers non-credit certificate programs to allow business professionals to enhance their professional development. If requirements are met at the conclusion of our program a digital certificate of completion will be provided from FIU College of Business.

    Participants in custom or group programs that take place in person receive hardcopy certificates in addition to digital certificates.

    Please note our programs are non-credit and therefore you will not earn college credits as a part of a current academic program. It is not necessary to apply for FIU admission.

  • Are there any requirements or pre-requisites to register for the program?

    With the exception of the Lean Six Sigma green and black belts, most FIU Executive Education courses do not have any prerequisites.

    If you are taking a program which prepares you for an exam to obtain a professional designation or credential, please check directly with the association prior to applying for the exam to ensure that you have met their requirements to register for the certification exam.

  • How do I register for the program?

    To register for a program for individuals, please click on the "Register Now" link on any of the program’s webpages. For group or custom programs, please contact us at ExecEdCustomPrograms@fiu.edu.

  • Is there an application fee?

    With the exception of our Mastery Certificate Programs, our programs do not charge an application fee.

  • Can international students join the program?

    International attendees are welcome to enhance their professional development by participating in FIU Executive Education program for individuals. Most programs for individuals are conveniently offered remotely (live, online) or fully self-paced. International learners and groups often participate in our custom or group programs, either remotely or by way of a group visit to Miami.

    Please note: Miami, Florida is on Eastern Standard Time (EST), when observing standard time (autumn/winter), are five hours behind Coordinated Universal Time (UTC−05:00).

    Student Visas: Continuing professional education programs are non-credit and non-degree programs; therefore, they do not qualify for US student visas. To attend in-person programs, international participants usually need a tourist visa.

  • How are programs delivered?

    Custom or Group Programs: Delivery of these programs can be customized to meet the needs of the group for which the program is developed. They are available in person on campus or another location. They also are available remotely online, as well as in a hybrid format.

    Programs for Individuals: These programs are available online in one of two ways:

    1. Remotely via Zoom led live by an instructor on a set schedule. This modality often includes use of the FIU Canvas Learning Management System.
    2. Online, Self-Paced, where learners take the program at their own pace and schedule.
  • What will happen if I miss a program session?

    Each specific program has its own attendance requirement, typically 80%. In general, should you miss a program session, you will be able to access the session recording. Throughout the program, if you have any questions regarding an absence, please do not hesitate to contact the program coordinator.

  • What is the usual class size?

    For Programs for Individuals: In order to ensure that program sessions remain engaging and interactive, our class sizes are typically no larger than 20 participants. We work to ensure that participants have countless opportunities to interact with both the program instructors and their peers.

    For Custom or Group Programs: Class size depends on the specific requests or needs of the group for which the program is created.

  • How are the classes structured?

    FIU Executive Education programs are designed to be incredibly engaging and allow for the students to participate. Although a portion of each session will consist of instructor lectures, our sessions also include of group work, activities, projects, case studies and roleplay scenarios that allow to apply the knowledge and synthesize the information imparted.

  • How much work per week should I expect to commit to?

    Each program’s outside classroom hours will vary on the topic. For most Programs for Individuals, an approximate may be 4-6 hours outside class time.

  • When will I receive the program schedule and logistics details?

    For Programs for Individuals: Full program information will be provided one week prior to the program’s start date. Full contact information for each program’s coordinator is provided in the Welcome Packet.

    For Custom or Group Programs: Information, including schedules and logistics, is delivered based on the requests of the organization for whom the program is developed.

  • Who will be my main point of contact for course communications?

    For Programs for Individuals: The Program Coordinator is the primary point of contact for any program-related issues/concerns as well as providing overall administrative support for the program. Should you have any questions before, during or after the program, please do not hesitate to contact our program coordinators via Canvas LMS, phone or email.

    For Custom or Group Programs: The Program Director typically is the main point of contact.

  • What are the requirements to earn the FIU Certificate of Completion?

    For Programs for Individuals: Successful completion of the program is contingent upon participants attending and participating in a minimum of 80% of the program sessions. With reasonable advance written notice and the approval of the Program Coordinator, a participant may be excused from a session. In addition, some programs have assessments in the form of quizzes or projects that must earn either a 70% passing score or a completion mark.

    For Custom or Group Programs: Requirements depend on the requests of the organization for whom the program is developed.

  • What if I do not meet the requirements to earn the Certificate of Completion?

    For Programs for Individuals: Should you fail to meet the attendance requirement for a specific program, then you may make up the program sessions that you have missed during the next program offering. Certificate will be provided once the missed session(s) is made up.

    For Custom or Group Programs: Attendance requirements, including policies on making up missed attendance, will depend on the requests of the organization for whom the program is developed.
