About FIU BusinessCollege Profile

History

We opened our doors when Florida International University did—in 1972. The graduate school was named formally in 2001 as the Chapman Graduate School of Business and the undergraduate school was named officially in 2004 as the Landon Undergraduate School of Business.

Location

The College of Business, Florida International University, is headquartered at Modesto A. Maidique Campus, 11200 S.W. 8th Street, College of Business Complex, Suite 300, Miami, Florida 33199-0001. Phone: 305.348.2751, TDD via FRS 1.800.955.8771.

Campuses

We're based in Modesto A. Maidique Campus in southwest Miami adjacent to the intersection of Tamiami Trail (S.W. 8th Street) and the Florida Turnpike. We also offer programs at the waterfront Biscayne Bay Campus in North Miami, our FIU at I-75 in southwest Broward County, and at FIU Downtown on Brickell.

Our Miami location lets students enjoy the international, urban, and ethnic richness of the area's diverse culture. It also places us in a major center of technology, finance and international commerce, travel and tourism, international banking and real estate, and a growing cable television and entertainment industry.

Faculty

Our faculty of 150+ scholars and business leaders, representing 38 nationalities, includes internationally known experts in international business, information technology strategy, operations research, knowledge management, e-business, entrepreneurship, real estate, international banking and trade, consumer marketing, customer relationship management, global marketing, and corporate responsibility. They offer a wealth of research and teaching experience and practical business savvy.

Alumni

A fifth of more than 68,000 of our alumni own their own businesses. Some 70 percent work in Florida, in organizations that collectively represent a major part of the state's economy, and a large number work for international or multinational firms.
