The Master of Science in International Real Estate (MSIRE) program at FIU Business has been re-accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), a worldwide organization for professionals in property, land, construction and related environmental issues. FIU is now one of just three universities in the U.S. with RICS-accredited real estate programs, sharing the distinction with Columbia University and New York University.
“Our MSIRE program is second to none as illustrated by our continued RICS accreditation,” said Eli Beracha, director of the Hollo School of Real Estate at FIU Business. “Our faculty members are among the world’s most prolific real estate researchers, and our students enjoy a world-class real estate business education at a phenomenal value.”
As part of the accreditation process, RICS academics and employers evaluated the Hollo School of Real Estate’s program, checking for certain criteria including an appropriate curriculum that covered all the credits required for students to become appraisers and that they have the resources necessary to execute.
MSIRE students now receive free membership in RICS, which includes opportunities to network with industry leaders and RICS professionals. Additionally, graduates will have a streamlined pathway to the RICS credentialing process, bypassing the five years of relevant experience typically required by the organization.
In addition to the MSIRE program, delivered on campus and online, FIU Business offers an undergraduate Bachelor of Business Administration in Real Estate program, with nearly 220 students enrolled in fall 2025 across both programs. The Journal of Real Estate Literature has ranked the college No. 1 globally for real estate research productivity for the fifth consecutive year.
