Our Master of International Business (MIB) candidates are highly-motivated professionals intent on reaching that next level of leadership success. Admissions decisions can be quite competitive. Admission to the MIB program is based on a variety of factors and will be evaluated holistically. Our admissions team carefully screens each application to ensure candidates are an optimal fit for the program demands and objectives.
Admission requirements include the following. You must:
Hold a four-year Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related area (e.g. Marketing, Finance, and International Business) or equivalent degree from an accredited college or university.
Be in good standing with all previously attended colleges and universities.
Have four years of professional work experience OR two years of professional work experience AND have a minimum score of 500 on the GMAT (www.mba.com). GRE (www.ets.org) scores are considered on an individual basis. Possess a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0
TOEFL or IELTS SCORES: If you earned your Bachelor Degree in a country whose official language is not English, you must demonstrate English proficiency by taking either the TOEFL or IELTS. Minimum scores for the TOEFL are: 550 paper-based, 213 computer-based and 80 internet-based. Minimum score for the IELTS is 6.5. When requesting the official scores, please refer to the Florida International University Institution code 5206.

Official transcripts from all previously attended colleges and/or universities. The original transcripts must be in a sealed enveloped (unopened) from the issuing-institution. If your official transcripts are not in English, a second copy of the transcript must be evaluated by an official translation agency and sent to our mailing address above. Ask the University to provide two copies of transcripts: the first set must come to us in a sealed envelope. The second set may be sent to a translation agency. Please note that FIU accepts transcript and diploma translations, and all evaluations of official academic records are to be performed by FIU staff only. Some suggested agencies are found on the University Graduate School website.

Current Resume: detailing your chronological professional experience, and dates of earned degrees. Internships and part-time employment may be included. A minimum of two years of experience is required if you are a Master of International Business candidate.
GMAT or GRE scores. (If you have 2-3 years of professional experience, as opposed to 4 or more.) You must earn a score of at least 500 on the GMAT (www.mba.com).GRE(www.ets.org) scores are considered official when sent by the testing center directly to our school.
If you already have a Master’s degree from an accredited institution, you may be eligible for a GMAT/GRE waiver if you have at least a 3.0 graduate degree GPA.
Statement of Purpose: A document of no more than two pages outlining your objectives for pursuing this graduate degree program

DCF form The Declaration and Certification of Finances must be completed and returned to Graduate Admissions. If you have Internet access, it’s fastest to complete the DCF form online. Once completed, please print it and return it.
F1 Transfer Form (If needed) F-1 students transferring from another institution in the United States must provide a copy of the F-1 Student Transfer Form with a suitable release date from his/her current institution.
Proof of Medical Insurance By Board of Trustees and university rule, all international students at FIU in F-1 and J-1 status are required to have medical insurance prior to registration. Proof must be submitted to the Health Compliance Office at University Health Services. You will NOT be allowed to register for classes without complying with the medical insurance requirement, and will receive a hold on your registration.
The medical insurance requirement can be met in one of two ways:
By purchasing the University-approved policy.
By submitting an International Student Health Insurance Compliance Form completed by your current insurance company and approved by UHS
A Certificate of Eligibility for Non-Immigrant Students (Form I-20) will be issued once the applicant has been found admissible to the University and the Declaration and Certification of Finances has been approved.
The University is required by immigration authorities to check carefully the financial resources of each applicant prior to issuing the Form I-20. Therefore, it is important that you be aware of the cost of participating in the program and have the necessary support and funding for your period of enrollment. The total funds available for the entire program must equal the total estimate of institutional costs and living expenses for the duration of the program (Estimate of $61,193 for the academic year). Please make sure that you provide us with sufficient proof of funds for at least this amount.
International students must have an I-20 in order to secure F-1 status and participate in the program. Students must secure an F-1 Visa from the U.S. consular in their home country in order to enter the U.S.
