  • I already completed a master’s degree. Do you accept transfer credits?

    Yes, FIU Professional MBA Online applicants may transfer up to six (6) graduate-level credits earned at an accredited institution. Credits submitted for transfer will be evaluated during the application process.

  • Can I do more than one specialization?

    Yes, FIU Professional MBA Online students may choose to pursue an additional specialization beyond their primary one. However, this will incur an additional cost and may extend the time required for graduation. We recommend discussing your academic and career goals with your advisor to determine if adding a second specialization aligns with your timeline and objectives.

  • Are classes synchronous or asynchronous? Are there Zoom sessions?

    FIU Professional MBA Online courses are delivered in a primarily asynchronous format, allowing you to study on your own schedule. However, some courses may include optional or required synchronous Zoom sessions such as live discussions, group presentations, or faculty Q&As. These sessions are usually scheduled in the evenings or weekends to accommodate working professionals.

  • What financial aid options do you offer?

    PMBAO students may qualify for federal financial aid, including loans through the FAFSA program. Additionally, employer sponsorship, tuition reimbursement programs, and payment plans are available. Be sure to speak with a financial aid advisor to explore all funding opportunities.

  • Can I apply for an MBA without a bachelor’s degree?

    No, applicants must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university to be eligible for the Professional MBA Online program. This is a required part of the admissions criteria and ensures students are prepared for graduate-level business coursework. If your degree was earned outside the United States, a credential evaluation may be needed to confirm equivalency.

  • Is this the same MBA as the on-campus program?

    Yes! You’ll receive the same AACSB-accredited MBA as on-campus students, taught by the same faculty, and with access to the same university resources, just delivered fully online.

  • Can I keep working while enrolled in the PMBAO program?

    Absolutely. The FIU Professional MBA Online program is specifically designed for working professionals. With asynchronous courses and flexible scheduling, most students continue working full time while completing their degree.

  • What types of students are typically enrolled in this program?

    The PMBAO program attracts early- to mid-career professionals from a wide variety of industries including tech, finance, healthcare, government, and non-profits. The average student has 5–10 years of professional experience.

  • Do I get access to career support and alumni networking?

    Yes. As a PMBAO student, you gain access to the Career Services team, global alumni network, virtual networking events, and career development resources like resume reviews, interview coaching, and leadership workshops.

  • Do you offer scholarships for the PMBA Online program?

    Yes. FIU offers performance-based scholarships for PMBA Online students, awarded based on your GPA once you complete your first 10 courses. Awards can be up to $10,000, and many PMBAO students receive some scholarship funding; amounts vary by eligibility and available funds. You will apply through FIU’s scholarship portal after admission.

  • What is the ROI on FIU’s Professional MBA Online?

    According to Bloomberg’s Business School ROI Calculator, the ROI of an FIU MBA ranks Top 10 in the U.S., with an estimated 17.7% annual return on investment.

  • Will the degree say online?

    No, your diploma will say "Master of Business Administration from Florida International University" It will not mention online.

  • What is the total cost of the program?

    The current total tuition cost of FIU’s Professional MBA Online is $42,000. Aside from the tuition cost, we recommend budgeting between $350-$450 a semester for books and course materials (but we aim for it to be much less than that).

  • Can I get a scholarship?

    Yes. Unlike other institutions who look at past performance, like GPA, we value and reward your effort during the program, and offer up to $10,000 in scholarships. This could mean that your MBA could cost you $27,000 if you are a top performer!

  • Will I have to come to campus at any point?

    The Professional MBA Online program at FIU is 100% online, so you will never need to come to campus. However you are more than welcome to attend on-campus events, study at the library, or walk at the graduation ceremony.

  • How fast can I finish the program?

    You can complete our online MBA program in as little 18 months, but if you need to take a slower pace you have the option of completing it in 21 or 33 months.

  • Are GMAT or GRE scores required?

    No, you are not required to submit GMAT/GRE scores as part of your application.

  • Do I need to have all supplemental materials ready at the start of my MBA application?

    No, you will only need to supply your resume at the point of the application. Once your application has been submitted, a recruiter will reach out to you with the list of documents needed to complete your file and instructions on how to submit them.

  • How long will it take to get an admission decision?

    There are 5 starts a year therefore admission decisions can be received 1-3 weeks prior to a given start.

  • What is the ROI of FIU’s online MBA?

    Based on our previous cohort’s data, students within 3 months of graduation, on average, increase their salary by $12,000.

  • Does FIU’s Professional MBA Online program offers job opportunities or internships?

    While we don’t guarantee jobs or internships, our College has the Business Career Management office. Services provided by this department include resume critiques, mock interviews, invitation to career fairs and workshops for help with salary negotiation, networking, business etiquette, and more.
