Starbucks

Gianny Sanchez was born and raised in the Dominican Republic where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture & Urbanism from the Universidad Nacional Pedro Henriquez Urena; her first endeavor being the design of villas in Casa De Campo. In 2005, she decided to move to Miami to pursue a Master’s Degree in Construction Management from FIU and continue her career in the architecture field, supporting the development of multiuse High-Rise and hotels in Miami-Dade and villas in Ocean Reef. She later transitioned to the retail industry supporting the expansion of a Luxury Goods brand within the travel retail channel and finally Starbucks where she started with company owned stores in the design team. Meanwhile, Gianny worked on achieving her second Master’s Degree in International Real Estate from FIU which became vital in her current role as Project Development Manager for Latin America & Caribbean. From start to finish, Gianny is a key player on the brand expansion of licensed stores within the region, overseeing all projects such as licensee onboarding, market planning, design, store opening and portfolio management throughout the 22 countries with Starbucks presence.

Gianny is grateful for the opportunity. She is looking forward to being an active member of the council and bring her knowledge and experiences back to FIU where she was given the tools to grow her career.
