Rod Castan has been in the commercial property development, sales, leasing, and management business since 1985. He is a Principal with Metro Commercial Real Estate and President of Barron Collier Investment Partners, the retail and mixed use development joint venture of Barron Collier Companies and Metro Commercial Real Estate. Metro is a New Jersey based commercial real estate advisor that represents 140 retailers and 8.75 million square feet of commercial properties nationally. Barron Collier has a legacy dating back to 1911 with diversified real estate investments and development projects in commercial, multifamily, community development and land holdings across the sunbelt. Rod is past President of the Courtelis Company Leasing and Management Services, a Miami based real estate developer. During his 27 year tenure at Courtelis, he was involved in the development of 30 ground up and redevelopment shopping center and commercial projects totaling over 4 million square feet and valued at over $1 Billion.

Rod is the past Southern Division Operations Chairman of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), past ICSC State Director for Florida, recipient of the CRRP, CRX and CLS designations and is on the certification and education committee of ICSC. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the University of Florida’s Bergstrom Center for Real Estate, the Advisory Board for the Hollo School of Real Estate at Florisa International University and Board of Advisors for YMCA of South Dade.
