Department of Marketing and Logistics

The mission of the Department of Marketing and Logistics is to generate, disseminate, and apply marketing and logistics knowledge by engaging in high-quality teaching, research, professional service, and professional development activities. The department develops and delivers quality marketing and logistics programs that foster an educational culture that helps students excel at designing, implementing, and controlling marketing and logistics strategies and tactics. The department strives to be recognized as a leader in marketing and logistics education, nationally and internationally.

The department is home to the PayCargo Supply Chain and Logistics Program. Located in Miami, an international hub for logistics, the program is dedicated to developing the next level managers and directors of logistics businesses and to solidify FIU Business as the center of excellence for international logistics and supply chain management.

The department is comprised of 32 full-time experienced faculty members, as well as several highly-qualified business professionals acting as adjunct instructors, who are consistently innovative in their teaching methods and curriculum design, and who have been honored with many college and university-level teaching awards.

As reported recently in USA Today, LinkedIn's "State of Salary Report" found that four of the highest paying entry- and mid-level jobs are marketing related: $57,000 for outside sales representative, $66,000 for associate marketing manager, $75,000 for pharmaceutical sales representative, and $105,000 for associate brand manager (all figures total media compensation).
