Eight New Faculty Members Across Four Departments for Fall 2022

FIU Business welcomes eight new faculty members across four department for fall 2022. David Koslowsky joins the college as an associate teaching professor of finance. Koslowsky, whose research interests include corporate finance, corporate governance and asset pricing, was previously an assistant professor of finance at the University of Wisconsin, Superior since 2016. He earned his PhD at the University of Manitoba in Canada.

The Department of International Business welcomes two faculty members. Dan Prud’homme joins the department as an assistant professor, after teaching in Europe and, prior to that, working in China for a decade. Prud’homme, whose research interests include strategy, IB, IPR, and innovation, earned his PhD at MGSM, Macquarie University in Australia. Maria Cristina Gonzalez joins the department as an assistant teaching professor after earning her DBA from Florida International University. Gonzalez is a technology industry practitioner with a passion for teaching. She has served FIU Business as an adjunct professor, earning the best professor award for the Professional MBA class of 2022. Her interests include organizational change, transformation, and leadership for novel business outcomes.

New Faculty Members

Two faculty members have joined the Department of Marketing and Logistics. Joshua D. Dorsey joins the department as an advanced assistant professor, having earned his PhD from West Virginia University in 2017. Dorsey, whose scholarly interests include transformative consumer research and consumer culture theory, pertaining to issues of financial well-being, cannabis, and race in the marketplace, creates dynamic, impactful research to improve consumers' lives. Lennay Chapman also joins as an assistant professor after earning her PhD at the City University of New York's Graduate Center together with Baruch College. Chapman’s research centers on consumer-technology interactions, with a special focus on social judgments and signaling.

New FIU Business Faculty Members

The Department of Information Systems welcomes three faculty members. Anqi Wu has been appointed as an assistant professor after earning her PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her research interests include public policy and regulation, digital platforms and public sector operations. Samayita Guha joins the department as an assistant professor after earning her PhD at Temple University. Xueping Liang, who earned her PhD at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing, also joins the department after serving as an assistant professor at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro since 2020. Her research interests include Research on blockchain, cybersecurity and AI.
