Mission

The mission of the HCMBA Program at the FIU CoB is to improve the delivery of healthcare services through the education of healthcare managers, service to the community and the profession, and research. The Program provides educational opportunity with a special commitment to multicultural and working students. The educational mission is to provide early to mid-level career path students with professional knowledge and with conceptual, analytical, technical, and ethical skills to manage healthcare systems collaboratively with competency, sound decision-making, innovative strategic thinking, and integrity. As part of our mission to better serve the community, the Program aims to prepare our students for the needs of the marketplace through the integration of theory and practice in partnership with the local South Florida healthcare community.

Vision

The vision of the HCMBA Program is to become South Florida’s leading healthcare management program known locally, nationally, and internationally for providing quality education, service to the community, and research. To facilitate this vision, the Program is designed to be a catalyst for change, leadership, and innovation in healthcare policy. The solution to current healthcare issues likewise requires strategic alliances with stakeholders in government, policy makers, public and private healthcare institutions, and the communities served by our students. These strategic alliances are a significant component in our Program and essential to better preparing our students for the challenges in the marketplace. Our vision embraces integrity, transparency, and trust.

Values
