Chapman Graduate School2020 Graduate Admissions Update

COVID-19 has been disruptive in many ways, including in how we support prospective and existing students. Notwithstanding such limitations, the faculty and staff of FIU Business remain committed to our students and their long-standing goals even in a time of temporary uncertainty. Concerning application, admissions, and enrollment, our staff remains dedicated to assisting and aiding you throughout your information search and formal admissions process.

In addition to being an innovator with regard to in-person, face-to-face programs, FIU Business has been a pioneer in online education, with more than two decades of experience in distance learning. FIU Business is prepared to meet the challenges of providing an excellent education remotely to those who wish to pursue it while keeping our students, faculty, and staff safe. We have the experience, technical support, and capacity to facilitate all modes of education delivery: face-to-face, remote, and fully-online. We plan to offer all modes of delivery as necessary in Fall 2020 and will remain leaders in graduate business education.

Below are some of the questions we have been receiving and hope they help guide you.

Our enrollment advisors are available to help you with any questions or concerns regarding any of our graduate programs. Even though they are working remotely, you have multiple ways to connect with them. At present, all graduate info sessions and events are offered online and via webinars.

We are currently accepting applications for Fall 2020, and the June 2020 PMBA Online start. We will support you through the application process and provide deadline flexibility if necessary.

Due to school closures and restricted movement, it may not be possible for you to obtain transcripts. We are accepting copies of the original to continue your admission process and can receive your official transcripts once universities re-open.

Students who have been unable to take the ETS GRE, GMAT, or  TOEFL tests, should visit their respective websites to explore their "at home" testing options. You should also contact a recruitment team member to ask if you qualify for a GRE or GMAT waiver.

We understand that the pandemic has financially impacted many of you. Our Financial Aid representatives are available to meet with you via Zoom and provide you with information on how to fund advancing your education. We have increased the number of financial aid information sessions, and some of our programs are providing new scholarships.

Make sure to complete/renew your FAFSA application for the 2020-2021 school year online at https://studentaid.gov/. We recommend that you complete this application at least 2 months before the start of your program.

The Financial Aid Office is in the process of testing systems to ensure that summer aid offer is available for the student to view and accept by April 17 th, 2020.  The Financial Aid Office will send the summer aid notices to the student’s FIU email.

Emergency Federal Assistance from CARES Act

Funding in the form of a grant should be arriving at FIU within a couple of weeks.  The grant will be awarded for Spring 2020 and Summer 2020; more details will become available on how this grant will be awarded and who will qualify for it.  The OneStop website will have the information available once it is ready.

FIU Business continues to admit international students for the fall semester and we encourage you to continue applying for in-person programs regardless of your visa status. If you are not able to travel to the U.S. before your program starts, you will be able to:

  1. Start classes remotely in fall and once you are able to travel, transition to the on-campus experience at the start of the next semester (Spring 2021), or
  2. Be deferred to the next program start date, which is Spring 2021.

We will not be scheduling in-person admission interviews at this time. All applicant interviews will be conducted via Zoom until further notice.

We encourage you to submit your application, regardless of your current GMAT/GRE testing status.

Please let your enrollment advisor know about this situation so he/she can make a note on your application file.
