Professional Activities

Dr. Nancy Richmond is an Assistant Teaching Professor at Florida International’s College of Business for the Department of Marketing and Logistics.  She is an innovative faculty member, social media consultant and executive coach that empowers and trains people to leverage technology and social media skills to be effective leaders. Her research explores digital transformation, social skills in the digital age, the future of technology and wellness in a digital world.

Dr. Richmond uses creative solutions and research based strategies to help organizations survive and thrive during times of growth, disruption and/or crisis. Dr. Richmond is recognized as a social media authority with over 300,000+ followers.  She tackles problems holistically and creates transformative solutions with a B.S. in Marketing, a Master’s in Counseling and a Doctorate in Education.  She is well-known for being a people connector and giving presentations that encourage individuals and business leaders to take their goals to the next level.

She empowers and trains individuals in effectively leveraging digital skills to innovate and help grow their business. She has worked with leading organizations including MIT, Harvard University, Northeastern University, University of Miami, La Croix, Campbell Soup Company, NBC 6/Telemundo, National Career Development Association, and National Association of Colleges and Employers. 

Her insights on the future of social media, technology and work has made her sought after by leaders and corporations as a keynote speaker and consultant. In addition, she has presented at academic conferences for the Marketing Management Association, Marketing Educator’s Association and Society for Marketing Advances.  She motivates audiences and organizations to embrace change, learn what is coming next and prepares them to help shape the future they want to see next. She inspires leaders in using their social skills to take their business and career to the next level to live a happier and more productive life. The media including CBS, NBC, Wall Street Journal, New York Times, and more often seek her expertise.

Dr. Richmond has hosted numerous conferences and events with hundreds of attendees promoting entrepreneurship, innovation, digital media and technology for the greater Miami community. She has collaborated with the Social Media Association, FIU AMA, Startup FIU, the Cambridge Innovation Center and the Digital Media Assembly to connect business professionals and students through interactive educational events. She is a strong advocate for using social skills, innovation and technology to help promote community building, social good and sustainability. She currently serves on the Martin Luther King committee at FIU as a digital advisor helping to promote equity and diversity.  She integrates social responsibility into the classroom where students have the opportunity to gain knowledge in cause marketing, video production and social media.  Each semester she hosts a competition where students create videos on a variety of causes including mental health, women’s rights, ocean pollution, climate change, equity and more. She is a strong believer in harnessing the power technology and uniting people to help tackle big challenges in business, our communities and the world for the purpose of social good. Dr. Richmond has traveled the globe extensively using her cross-cultural experiences in her work and teaching experiences.
