The analytics field is growing substantially and there’s a market demand for skilled workers. Businesses are trying to make sense of all this big data and how they can use it to be competitive.

Many of these jobs require candidates with both experience and advanced degrees. In a burgeoning new field that’s not easy to find. Eighty one percent of all new postings required three years of prior work experience and any of these roles, the high paying ones in particular – require a master’s degree.

As a result, analytics jobs in certain industries can take twice as long to fill than the national average. Employers hope that this urgent need for talent will encourage more professionals to enter the analytics field.

If you need a basic understanding of analytics to enable you to make decisions faster, then this program is for you.

Middle managers with 2-4 years working experience across a variety of industries including financial services, accounting, HR and marketing. These professionals need to know how to use analytics to identify customer’s needs, how to detect unusual activity in real time dashboards, or how to forecast inventory using predictive analytics. These jobs require hands-on experience with reporting and visualization software to assist in the collection and examination of data and connect the dots and build successful strategies using massive amounts of unstructured data.

No prior programming or coding experience is required.

A basic working understanding of MS Excel and introductory statistics will be helpful.

Registration for FIU Executive Education programs is relatively simple, in that you are registering directly for our certificate program and do not need to register through the university. To register for a particular program, please click on the “Register Now” link on the specific program’s webpage.

Our programs do not typically charge an application fee.

FIU Executive Education offers non-credit certificate programs to empower business professionals’ growth and professional development. At the conclusion of our Business Data and Analytics program, you will receive a digital certificate from FIU Business.

You do not need to apply through the university as a whole.

Please note: FIU Executive Education programs do not award college credits and may not be taken as part of a current academic program in which you may be enrolled. The registration and payment of FIU Executive Education programs are done directly through our website. Programs taken through FIU Executive Education will not appear on MyFIU and will not appear on an FIU transcript.

Successful completion of the program is contingent upon completion of assignments and quizzes.

Through taking a non-credit certificate program, participants will not be official students in the sense that they will not be awarded a “Panther ID” number or Student ID. With this being said, participants will therefore be unable to access the FIU Library, FIU Gym and other similar amenities.

International attendees are welcome to enhance their professional development by participating in FIU Executive Education programs. Program modalities are conveniently set to fit the schedules of busy professionals. Programs are typically delivered either live/virtual (cohort) synchronous or fully online (self-paced) asynchronous. We may also offer in-person programs. Please refer to each program’s Delivery Method listed on the program’s home page.

Student Visas: Continuing professional education programs are non-credit and non-degree programs; therefore, they do not qualify for US student visas. To attend in-person programs, international participants usually need tourist visa. When necessary, our office may present an official letter from FIU to confirmed participants which that may be used in support for obtaining a tourist visa.
