Eugenio Pino and Family Global Entrepreneurship Center

The Eugenio Pino and Family Global Entrepreneurship Center fosters new technology firms, strengthens existing family-owned and managed firms, researches important issues, encourages new community enterprises to improve the economic vitality globally, and develops entrepreneurial leaders in all areas.

The Center provides entrepreneurs with the knowledge and contacts that enable them to reach their objectives through educational programs and networking events.

FIU Business’ commitment to entrepreneurship began more than 20 years ago with the founding of the Pino Global Entrepreneurship Center.  In 2003, FIU Business was one of eight universities nationwide to receive a prestigious $3 million grant from the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation to promote entrepreneurship activities on a multi-disciplinary, university-wide basis.

The Kauffman Foundation grant was instrumental in helping the Pino Center to launch core programs. The Kauffman Foundation grant also challenged FIU Business to raise additional funds from the business community.  In response to this challenge, well-known Miami builder Sergio Pino stepped forward and made a $2 million investment pledge to endow the Center.  In honor of his father, the Center was named the Eugenio Pino and Family Global Entrepreneurship Center.
