    Hold a four-year bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0.

    Official transcript (an official record of a student’s work, showing courses taken and grades achieved) from all previously attended colleges and/or universities. Transcripts must be sent directly to FIU by all formerly attended institutions in a sealed university envelope.

    • If the language of instruction at your institution was not English, then you must provide the original-language copies of all transcripts and diplomas as described above.
    • Foreign educational credentials: Our Office of Admissions evaluates foreign credentials internally as part of the admission process at no cost to the applicant. If not in English, a translation from a recognized translation agency or a certified translator is also required.
    • Official proof of degree: Applicants with foreign educational credentials must provide a copy of the original diploma. If not in English, it must be accompanied by a translation from a recognized translation agency or a certified translator. For domestic students, a photocopy of the diploma is required if degree is not posted on official transcripts.

  • GMAT/GRE
    • If you have less than two years of professional experience, you must earn a score of at least 500 on the GMAT or at least a 304 on the GRE. Scores are considered official when sent by the testing center directly to our school.

    A GMAT waiver at the discretion of the academic director is available for:

    • Applicants with two years of demonstrative work experience and success in completing other academic programs
    • Applicants who have an undergraduate business or related degree (economics, hospitality management, etc.) with an upper division grade point average (GPA) of 3.25, or higher
    • Applicants without a business or related degree having an upper division grade GPA of 3.35, or higher
    • If the applicant has already completed a graduate degree from an accredited university with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0, or is entering a business master's program under a special agreement for admissions with specific foreign and domestic universities
  • English Proficiency Requirements

    Applicants from non-English speaking countries, including internationally educated American students, must demonstrate proficiency in English. FIU only accepts test scores sent directly from the testing agency as official. FIU’s institution code is 5206.

    FIU accepts the following tests as proof of English proficiency:

    • TOEFL iBT/PBT: 4.5 on the iBT TOEFL (Effective January 21, 2026; for tests taken prior to this date, the required minimum score is 80 on the iBT, or equivalent. Please see the ETS TOEFL iBT Score Understanding page for more information.)
    • IELTS: 6.5
    • Duolingo English Test: 110
    • 53 Pearson Test of English – Academic
    • Cambridge English – Advanced
    • FIU English Language Institute: Certification of satisfactory completion of all content areas with at least level six proficiency (Program details)
  • Resume

    Detailing your chronological professional experience, and dates of earned degrees. Internships and part-time employment may be included.

  • Statement of Purpose

    Short essay that describes why you want to obtain an advanced international business education, and how the MIB program fits within your personal and career goals.

  • Video

    As part of the admission process, a video is required. It must be uploaded to YouTube and can be saved as “unlisted” or on Google Drive. You will need to create a YouTube or Gmail account if you do not have one. Please make sure that the share link is set to "Anyone with the link can view". The video cannot exceed 5 minutes and you must be physically present 100% of the time. Elaborate on the following:

    • Why you are interested in the MIB program
    • Why at FIU
    • Career plans or goals for the next 5-10 years

  • Requirements for Student Visa

    If do not have a valid visa for study in the U.S., you will need an initial I-20. FIU creates this document for you to go to the U.S. Embassy/Consulate in your home country to request the F-1 student visa. If you are currently in the U.S. on a valid I-20 and are transferring your visa to FIU or another program within FIU, you’ll need a new I-20.

The program admits students every Spring term. Applications and supporting documents should be sent as early as possible to allow sufficient time for processing.
