Master of AccountingWhy an ACCA partnership with graduate accounting programs is important

The Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) is a global professional accounting body that offers the Chartered Certified Accounting designation. There are only nine universities in the U.S. whose Master of Science in Accounting (MSA) or Master of Accounting/Accountancy (MACC) programs partner with the ACCA. Florida International University is one.

What does the ACCA do?

Since 1904, the ACCA has worked on enhancing the value of accounting in society through international research and a lifetime of professional development for professional accountants. Their members and students are based in over 179 countries.

Their goal is to equip their members with the knowledge and skills of the highest standards that help in the creation of sustainable economies and flourishing societies. Members are able to help companies grow and prosper in an ethical way knowing how to comply with regulations in marketplaces all over the world.

Why is it beneficial for students to attend a graduate accounting program that has a partnership with ACCA?

Like the CPA exam, which features generally accepted accounting standards, the ACCA focuses on international financial reporting standards.

When a university decides to partner with ACCA, its curriculum assessed and aligned to ensure that the curriculum taught includes what is needed to meet the ACCA qualifications.

Upon graduation from a university partnered with the ACCA, you will have fulfilled eight sections of the ACCA exam, saving yourself time and money to be a Chartered Certified Accountant.

ACCA qualification is recognized worldwide and provides excellent opportunities to international students or U.S. students interested in an international career. This means you can start accelerating your career as soon as you graduate and stand out to the best employers in every industry.

An ACCA membership will give you access to what is known as the profession's most comprehensive range of career and professional development resources. It also offers the opportunity to influence and shape the accountancy profession, and entry into a global network that will support you throughout your career.
