Steven Gretenstein

Steven Gretenstein is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Dacra a prominent real estate development company with a number of creative affiliated brands based in Miami. Mr. Gretenstein manages the overall direction of the various entities in the Dacra family of companies including overseeing corporate management, operations, financing and the roll-out of individual initiatives.

Dacra, an early promoter and participant in the development of South Beach and Lincoln Road, has developed, managed and sold several million square feet of residential and commercial properties. Currently it has over one million square feet of commercial property in the Miami Design District, a major retail luxury destination. Dacra created a vision to redevelop the historic urban neighborhood and then implemented that vision from original acquisition, through implementation of a long-term physical redevelopment plan, to successfully marketing the area to luxury retailers and consumers. The area also is now recognized as one of the premier international locations for art, architecture, design and cultural programming. The Miami Design District has an additional two million square feet of development rights and is moving forward with plans to add office, hotel and a multi-family buildings.

Dacra also is engaged in other development activity including a joint venture with Brookfield Properties and Tesla to create an energy efficient residential neighborhood in Austin, Texas.

Over the last several years, Dacra has been active in the private equity and venture capital markets making over 25 investments mainly in companies that promote new technology, particularly in the area of health and environmental sustainability.

Mr. Gretenstein joined Dacra as Chief Financial Officer in 1994 and assumed the responsibilities of Chief Operating Officer in 1997. He became Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in 2022. Mr. Gretenstein has a Bachelor’s degree from George Washington University and an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He is a Florida licensed real estate broker and President of Dacra Realty.

Mr. Gretenstein is a past Chair of the Board of Directors of Jewish Community Services of South Florida and is currently a member of the executive committee of the Board of Directors of the Greater Miami Jewish Federation.
