Tafadzwa CliveTafadzwa Clive

Tafadzwa Clive Munyawarara is a senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance. He was a member of the Phoenician Investment Fund and is currently a Sector Manager of the Financials sector in the Student Managed Investment Fund. He has attained the Dean’s List recognition three consecutive times and during his freshman year, he was fortunate enough to participate at the annual Goldman Sachs Undergraduate Camp. As a visionary entrepreneur and investor, Tafadzwa is passionate about all things finance and business. Last summer, he interned at Credit Suisse within their Sales and Trading division and is looking forward to starting his career at a top tier investment bank post-graduation.

Mercedes ZhangMercedes Zhang

Mercedes is currently an Incoming Analyst at Citigroup within the firm’s Private Bank. Last summer, Mercedes was a Summer Analyst at UBS within the firm’s Wealth Management division. She has previously worked at Fairholme Capital Management as an Equity Research Analyst during Spring 2018. She led FIU’s school team in the CFA Institute Research Challenge, placing 2nd in the state of Florida against 16 other universities. She has also been extremely involved with the Student Managed Investment Fund as a Healthcare Associate Sector Manager (Fall 2017) and Sector Manager for the Energy Sector (Spring 2018). Mercedes is a senior at Florida International University with an expected graduation date of May 2019.

Rafael SanzRafael Sanz

Rafael is currently an Incoming Investment Banking Summer Analyst at J.P. Morgan in New York City. He previously worked at Chubbies Shorts as a Junior Data Summer Analyst in San Francisco. He also participated in the CFA Research Challenge in Spring 2018 and earned the highest ranking ever achieved in FIU history. Prior to joining AIIG, he served as Vice President of Investment Banking for the Phoenician Investment Fund. Rafael is a junior with an expected graduation date of May 2020.

Romulo PadillaRomulo Padilla

Romulo Padilla is a dual degree student majoring in Accounting and Finance. His freshman summer he interned at GFG Securities LLC. as an Investment Banking Summer Analyst in the Real Estate group. During this same period, he also participated in the Development Fellowship program at J.P. Morgan. Following that internship, Romulo spent his sophomore year working at a subsidiary of the Softbank Group called BrightStar Corporation in their Credit Risk team. That year he demonstrated his strong leadership capabilities as the Sector Manager for the Consumer Discretionary sector in the Student Managed Investment Fund. Romulo has always been very passionate about Finance and has made many strides to give back to his community. He is involved with several student organizations and has served on the Executive Board of the Phoenician Investment Fund for 2 years where he is now the current President. This summer, Romulo will join J.P. Morgan in their Investment Banking Division as a Summer Analyst.

Yainely CastilloYainely Castillo, BBA candidate ‘19

Yainely Castillo is a senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and International Business. She was the Director of Communications for the Phoenician Investment Fund and a member of ALPFA (The Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting). She is passionate about Finance and hopes to pursue her Master’s Degree and CFA after her Bachelor’s. She has completed an internship at J.P Morgan Chase which has further motivated her to continue learning about different financial topics that will help her in her career. Yainely is also involved on and off campus with organizations such as Alternative Breaks (which offers volunteering opportunities in other states and countries during college breaks) and FinLit (which teaches middle schoolers about finance).

Felipe Colon AndurayFelipe Colon Anduray, BBA candidate ‘22

Felipe Colon Anduray is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting & Economics with a certificate in Pre-Law. He is a member of several organizations at FIU, including ALPFA, PIF, BAP, and NextGen. Felipe has excelled academically, is a member of the Honors College, and has attained Dean's List recognition. Prior to arriving at FIU, Felipe graduated Cum Laude and as a Hispanic Heritage Foundation Hispanic Youth Scholar from School for Advance Studies, attaining an Associate’s Degree from Miami Dade College prior to graduating high school. In early 2018, Felipe served as the Federal Relations Intern with FIU's Washington D.C. Government Relations office, aiding to ensure FIU's federal priorities are met, delivered, and secured in Congress and with the various federal agencies of the United States government. Felipe aspires to pursue a career in Latin American Investment Banking, within a Mergers & Acquisitions Advisory Group, with goals of obtaining a Juris Doctorate and MBA.

Michael AlmeidaMichael Almeida, BBA candidate ‘22

Michael Almeida is from Miami, Florida and graduated from Southwest Miami High School as an AP Scholar with Distinction. At Southwest, Michael received an Academic Excellence award from Mari Tere Rojas, District 6 School Board Member for Miami-Dade County during his senior year. He also received the Congressional Medal of Merit from Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, U.S. Representative. Michael graduated as the Executive President from the Southwest’s Academy of Finance and Vice President of the National Honor Society. During Michael’s senior year in high school, he audited the Student Managed Investment Fund class at Florida International University. At Florida International University, Michael plans to pursue a major in Finance while auditing the Student Managed Investment Fund every semester.
