Call for AI Research Grant Proposals
The COB AI 360° Faculty AI Research Forum invites proposals to fund Artificial Intelligence (AI) research in business disciplines. The forum offers $2,000 per team for research proposals selected for funding. Applications are open to professors of all ranks across COB academic units. To participate, the following steps are required.

STEP 1: Attend the COB AI360° Faculty Research Forum Meeting on May 7, 2025
To apply for funding, faculty must attend the first COB AI faculty research forum meeting on May 7, 2025, where they can pitch research ideas, connect with potential collaborators, and explore team formation. During the “Lightening Round” segment of the meeting, each research team will have up to 10 minutes to present their research idea. Any topic related to AI research in business is welcome. These include but are not limited to:
- AI and the Future of Work & Human-AI Collaboration
- AI for Sustainable Business Practices & Social Impact
- AI in Accounting and Auditing
- AI in Education & Learning Systems
- AI in Ethics, Governance & Regulation
- AI in Finance
- AI in Healthcare
- AI in Human Resource Management
- AI in Marketing & Consumer Behavior
- AI in Operations Management
- AI in Supply Chain and Logistics
- AI Leadership and Strategic Decision Making
- AI in Real Estate
- Innovation and Digital Transformation

STEP 2: Proposal Submissions Due May 18, 2025
After pitching their research idea on May 7, each research team wishing to apply for research funding should submit a one-page structured abstract summarizing their research proposal. Proposals must be submitted electronically through the online portal at:
Required documents include a one-page research proposal and the CV(s) of the principal investigator(s), along with the names and affiliations of all research team members. The submission deadline is May 18. Funding decisions will be announced by June 9.
The research proposal should include:
- Title
- Research Objective & Significance
- Methodology & Approach
- Expected Contributions & Impact
- Target Publication Outlets
- Funding Request/Estimated Budget Needs
Evaluation Criteria
Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Relevance and significance of the research question
- Innovation and originality
- Feasibility and soundness of methodology
- Timeline for research progress and key deliverables
- Prospects for Publication & Impact

Funding Duration
Funding will be provided for one year, from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026. Funds may be used to support AI research activities, including the purchase of resources, in accordance with FIU’s expenditure guidelines for faculty development accounts.
Opportunities for Selected Faculty
- Selected faculty will be recognized as inaugural COB AI360° research fellows.
- They will have the opportunity to present their funded research as a working paper at the AI360° Research Symposium.
- They are also encouraged to share their work with the broader community by posting their funded working paper in the AI360° Working Paper Series.
