Don Parris

Don Parris is the Assistant Vice President of the Center for Advanced Analytics at Baptist Health South Florida where he develops primary goals, operating plans, and short- and long-range objectives for the use of advanced analytics (machine learning, artificial intelligence, etc.) at Baptist Health. Prior to his current role, he was the director of outcomes research at Baptist Health leading the research efforts of three clinical areas at South Florida’s largest health system. While at the Moffitt Cancer Center’s M2Gen Corporation, Don worked on the Total Cancer Care™ Initiative, which resulted in one of the world’s largest biorepositories of cancer tumors and associated patient clinical data. Don’s work at the Humana-University of Miami Health Services Research Center included managing claims data for large-scale population-based health services research studies and designing the claims-based recruitment strategy for the 6,000 person BioImage Study, which examined risk assessment in the primary prevention of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. He is a military veteran, having achieved the rank of Captain in the US Air Force where he managed the Defense Support Program’s computer and communication systems. Don received his PhD in Epidemiology and Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from the University of Miami.
