Joanne Li, Ph.D., CFA

Joanne Li, Ph.D., CFA is Dean, Professor of Finance and Ryder Eminent Scholar Chair at the Florida International University College of Business., an AACSB-accredited college. As dean, she leads the college’s Landon Undergraduate School and Chapman Graduate School, as well as its executive education, global learning and small business development programs (SBDC at FIU and the Pino Global Entrepreneurship Center).
Prior to joining the college, she served as Dean of Raj Soin College of Business at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. At Raj Soin, she developed innovative programs designed to accelerate the college’s role in economic and workforce development, including the Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship to promote student participation in commercialization and tech transfer, and Wright Venture, a Shark Tank look-alike that allows students to pitch start-up ideas to gain financial backing.
While serving as Dean at Raj Soin, she was recognized by the Dayton Business Journal as one of Dayton’s Power 50 Women and was named one of 100 Dayton’s Women Influencers by the Lean In Chapter, Dayton. She was also selected by the Deloitte Dayton Women’s Initiative as one of the eight Dayton-area women leaders of the fourth annual Wise Women conference.
Dr. Li is a retainer/selected speaker for the CFA Institute and CFA Institute Asia-Pacific. She has presented on the value of corporate governance at many international and national CFA societies including the Thailand Stock Exchange (TSE). She established the CFA mentoring program in numerous institutions and coordinated a Global Investment Research Challenge for the D.C. and Baltimore Societies. She has published in top ranked finance journals, including the Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Financial Research, and The Financial Review. She was the recipient of the Outstanding Article recognition in the Journal of Financial Research in 2005. She served as Associated Editor for Financial Analysts Journal in 2011 and 2012 and also served on the Editorial Board of the journal. In 2008, she took on the role of Editor in Chief of the Stalla Review for the CFA Exams.
Dr. Li graduated with a Ph.D. in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and a support area in Econometrics from Florida State University. She was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst designation in 2001.
Marcelo Rodriguez

Marcelo Rodriguez is an international corporate safety, security and crisis management executive with over 30 years of experience – 16 years as a former medal of valor law enforcement professional and 14 years with Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc., a division of Tokyo-based Sony Pictures.
Marcelo has continued his advancement in global security and safety operations, protection and resiliency programs and crisis response in critical threat and austere environments. Extensive international business travel including temporary residency in the United Kingdom, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Spain, and the Philippines. Marcelo has a strong global network of close associates in both private and public sectors reinforced by a current security clearance with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Marcelo joined Assurant as the Vice President of Global Business Resiliency in May 2019. Prior to Assurant, Marcelo was the Chief Security Officer (CSO) for Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc. As the CSO at Sony Pictures, Marcelo had overall global responsibility for security and safety operations, crisis management, business continuity, production and special event security, global threat management and enterprise security technology.
In November 2014, Marcelo led the corporate crisis management and business continuity response team while Sony Pictures Entertainment was under siege by an unprecedented nation-state cyber-attack. What began as a sophisticated and ruthless data breach of pre-released films, emails, medical records and other confidential information, later evolved to direct threats of physical attacks against board members, executives, employees, their families, and customers. After this cyber-attack, Marcelo restructured and implemented new safety and security systems, polices, procedures and controls and built the organizational resilience function which became a flagship program for other operating companies under Sony Corporation.
Nicholas Martinez, Ph.D.

Nicholas Martinez, PhD is the Director of Analytics, Research and Strategy for the Miami HEAT and 601 Analytics. His team is responsible for providing reporting analytics, data science, strategic insights and market research to drive customer engagement, business sales, and operations strategy. Nicholas has a 15 year career as a researcher, manager, and analyst within both the public and private sector.
Nicholas holds a Bachelor’s degree in Latin American Studies, a Master’s degree in International Affairs, and another in Urban Planning from FSU. He recently completed his Doctorate in Public Affairs at FIU where he focused on applying quantitative social science methods to complex policy questions.

Kay Yoder is Vice President EHS & Business Continuity, Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits. Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits is North America’s largest wine and spirits distributor, and the preeminent data insights company for alcoholic beverages. Yoder is a strategic Environment, Health and Safety Leader with over 25 years of global experience ensuring regulatory compliance, improving safety performance, and implementing sustainability initiatives into existing business practices. In her current responsibilities, Yoder oversees implementation and governance of the National EHS programs inclusive of Sustainability, Fleet Safety and DOT compliance, and Business Continuity.
Yoder is a dynamic individual, combining her strong leadership skills with an engineering background to build relationships at all levels, inspire people, and create a culture focused on risk reduction that results in superior EHS performance. Her vision is a “zero injury workplace”.
Previous employment includes Mallinckrodt, Inc. (1995-2000), Tyco Healthcare (2000-2007), Covidien (2007-2013), Mallinckrodt LLC (2013-2014), The Heico Companies (2014 -2016) and Southern Glazers Wine and Spirits (2016 – present).
Yoder supports many charity organizations in the South Florida area giving back to her community. In her spare time Kay enjoys boating, reading, golf, travel and spending time with her friends & family.

Dora Cortinas joined Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits in 2015 as Vice President, Master Data Management to define and lead a holistic MDM strategy. Her responsibilities soon expanded to Vice President Enterprise Data Management and Commercial Solutions, leading strategic Commercial Programs in support of SGWS’ digital transformation across customer relationship management, customer service and ecommerce.
Prior to Southern Glazer’s, she was Chief Information Officer at Brinker International where she focused on shifting the IT Team to be more agile, innovative and have a business mindset, and was with Michaels Craft Stores where she enabled an omni-channel strategy through solutions that opened up a new revenue stream via ecommerce.
Before coming to Brinker, Dora was employed with Burger King Corporation in Miami, Florida, where she held several leadership roles including VP, of Training and Development reporting into the SVP of North America Operations, as well as, key roles across several functions including Human Resources, Marketing, and Finance. Prior to Burger King Dora held several executive and top leadership positions at AutoNation, ANC Rental, brand owner of National and Alamo Rental Car. Her career started as a consultant with Deloitte Touche.
Dora earned her MBA from the University of Miami in Florida and holds a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from Florida International University based in Miami. She is a recent graduate of the Harvard University Executive Preeminent Leadership Program and was featured in the Hispanic Executive Magazine in 2013.

Dr. Karlene Cousins is Chair and Associate Professor of Information Systems and Business Analytics at FIU Business. She is the founding Director of the ATOM Think Tank – a real-world technology experiential program for students. She served as Director of the MSc. Information Systems Program. She founded ITWomen NextGen, an initiative focused on increasing the number of women in technology careers. An attorney and technology strategist, she is a frequent judge of the Miami Herald Business Plan Challenge. Karlene worked in the financial, manufacturing, aviation and healthcare industries including a stint at Deloitte, one of the Big Four professional services firms.
Her research focuses on the impact of emerging technologies such as mobile payments, blockchain and cryptocurrency. Her work appears in prestigious journals such as the European Journal of Information Systems and Journal of the AIS. Notable speaking engagements include an invited presentation on mobile work practices at the International Economic Development Council’s Leadership Summit in 2015. In 2016, she received an outstanding research award from the Emerald Publishing Group. Legacy Magazine recognized her as a top black educator in 2016.
She obtained a Ph.D. in Computer Information Systems from the Georgia State University and a J.D. from the Northwestern University School of Law. She is currently a Senior Editor of the Production and Operations Management Journal.
