ATOM Pink TankOverview

In partnership with BankUnited, FIU Business launched its "Pink Tank," led by the same ISBA faculty who lead the college's ATOM Think Tank. The Pink Tank creates a space for female students to hone critical skills under the mentorship of BankUnited executives.

The purpose of the Pink Tank is to engage female business students and increase awareness of the possibilities for careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). The Pink Tank initiative strives to open a conversation and address these challenges through the lens of business within our student body and community.

The ATOM Pink Tank Program lasts six months from when applications open in October to when students present at the Final Presentation Challenge in April. Students selected for the Pink Tank program will have the opportunity to:

  • Hone critical skills under the mentorship of BankUnited executives and FIU ISBA faculty who will serve as business coaches
  • Connect with STEM business executives and subject matter experts by attending several professional workshops
  • Present at the FIU PowerUp Women’s Leadership Summit in March 2022
  • Compete in the ATOM Pink Tank Final Challenge Presentations, with the opportunity to design solutions to real-world challenges regarding equity, diversity and inclusion in South Florida companies.

Students selected into the Pink Tank program will be provided with a stipend of $750 each. In addition, they will have the opportunity to compete in the Pink Tank Hackathon-style challenge where the first-place team will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship for each member, and the second-place team will be awarded a $500 scholarship for each member.

The inaugural Pink Tank experience began in fall 2020 and we can't wait to see how we continue in the future!
