Krista Mikaële Theodore, MSISS

Krista Theodore is a Cyber Security Analyst for Memorial Healthcare System. Prior to joining Memorial, she was an IT Security Engineer for the University of Miami’s Information Security Office. She holds several security certifications such as Certified Security Compliance Specialist, Payment Card Industry Professional, GIAC Security Essentials, GIAC Certified Incident Handler & CompTIA Security+.
Krista earned concurrent Bachelor of Science degrees from The Pennsylvania State University in Information Sciences and Technology: Integration and Application, and Security and Risk Analysis: Information and Cyber Security. Additionally, she earned her Master of Science in Information Systems and Business Analytics at Florida International University.
Krista is the founder of the Digital Immigrants Project, a local organization which provides education, training and awareness to individuals born before the widespread adoption of digital technology. She serves as board member and role model speaker for ITWomen, a non-profit organization which strives to narrow the gender gap in technology and increase the potential for innovation and economic growth through gender equity. She is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Project Semicolon, Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, Miami Electronic Crimes Task Force, InfraGard, and Information Systems Security Association.

Eduardo Salcedo
Ph.D. candidate at Florida International University.
Eduardo graduated with a master’s in information systems from FIU and has over six years of experience working in management outside of academia. He’s currently a third-year student with interests in information security policy, blockchain technology, and the sharing economy. When not researching, Eduardo enjoys teaching, since he thrives from the interaction with his students. He has taught statistics, introduction to technology, network certification, and Java programming courses. In his latest teaching evaluation (Spring 2018), he was given a 4.33 out of 5. He is an E-board member of the Ph.D. Project (2018-2019) and started the Business Doctoral Student Association (BDSA) at FIU with the mentorship of Dr. George Marakas.

Jose Pineda
Ph.D. candidate at Florida International University.
Jose Pineda is a PhD Candidate at the Department of Information Systems and Business Analytics (ISBA) at Florida International University. His teaching expertise includes developing and teaching multiple classes ranging from business analytics to Database Systems and Physical Design with a special focus on the analysis of large datasets. Additionally, his doctoral research investigates how the social perception of computers alters the interaction between humans and the machine, with a special focus on the effects that such perception has over the user’s beliefs and behavior leading to both desired and unexpected outcomes. He is also interested in how we can design technologies to promote its perception as tools or agents and the implications that each perception has over the users’ satisfaction. Jose takes a multidisciplinary approach to research with a strong interest in using new research methods to explore his research interests as seen fit including data analysis techniques and Neuro IS approaches. He is also an active member in PhD student organizations and is the Parliamentarian in the committee for PhD Project Information Systems Doctoral Student Association (ISDSA) in charge of the organization of the ISDSA conferenc e for 2019.
