Congratulations and welcome to the Panther family! Follow the checklist to confirm your acceptance to FIU. We can't wait to have you here.

  • 1. Admission Deposit

In order to reserve your space, you will need to submit a $200 (non-refundable) tuition deposit within 2 weeks of your admission letter. This amount will be later applied towards your Fall semester tuition.

  • 2. Sign important program documents

Student Enrollment Terms and Conditions and the Photography Consent Form must be signed prior to orientation.

  • 3. Apply for Financial Aid (U.S. students only)

Reuse your FSA ID every year.

    IMPORTANT

Students who have been admitted and completed their FAFSA application will be offered Unsubsidized Federal Stafford Loans. Graduate students may borrow up to a maximum of $20,500 per academic year through the Federal Direct Loan program. The actual amount a student is eligible to borrow cannot exceed the program cost of attendance, minus any other assistance received.

For additional information regarding Financial Aid, please visit Master of International Business - Financial Aid

  • 4. Finalize Your Admissions File

Your acceptance to FIU is based on the academic information that was available when the Admissions Office reviewed your application. You may have been admitted with courses in progress or unofficial test scores. Therefore, it is important that you submit official documents prior to the end of your first semester.

Residency documents: If you are seeking in-state tuition you must submit your proof of residency. Learn how to establish residency here: https://onestop.fiu.edu/student-records-myfiu/personal-records/declare-residency/

  • 5. Start the MIB Prep Workshop

Upon enrollment in the MIB Program, our students participate in a mandatory preparatory workshop. If you do not have an academic background in business, the material in this workshop will teach you the basics in business functions and economics to better equip you with the knowledge to succeed in the program. For students who have a background in business, it will serve as a refresher. This workshop will also help you become familiar with the online learning tool, Canvas, which you will have to use for most of your courses. Some of the material for this workshop is free and some is available for purchase at a nominal cost.

You will receive an email from the MIB team once you are enrolled with more instructions and deadlines.

Student Right-to-Know and Campus Security Act

Under the Student Right-to-Know and Campus Security Act, Florida International University will, upon request, make available to students the completion or graduation rates of certificate or full-time degree-seeking students for a one-year period. Also, available upon request, are university policies regarding procedures for reporting criminal actions or other emergencies; access to campus facilities; campus law enforcement; crime prevention programs; statistics concerning arrests and the occurrence on campus of certain criminal offenses; criminal activity of off-campus student organizations, and the use, possession, and sale of illegal drugs or alcohol. This information can be obtained from the Department of Public Safety or the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

How to Pay for Classes

Prior to the payment deadline, students should visit  my.fiu.edu and follow the steps provided. Semester tuition payments are due by the first day of class. A payment schedule will be shared with students closer to the start of the program.

If you have financial aid:

  • Click the "Financial Aid" tile. Under the "Awards" tab, find the "Accept/Decline" tab to accept awards

If you do not have financial aid:

  • Click the “Financial Account” tile. Under the "Make a Payment" tab, pay online with a credit card or electronic check/electronic transfer.
  • Pay in person by cash or check at the Student Financials Office in the Student Academic Success Center (SASC), room 101 (MMC) or AC1 140 (BBC). Self-service payment kiosks are also located in SASC.

Wire transfer payments:

  • FIU has partnered with Flywire to offer a streamlined and cost-effective payment method to send international payments; therefore, we ask international students to send all bank transfer payments through  Flywire.

Payment Plan:

  • Students have the ability to sign up for a payment plan, which is coordinated by the Student Financials office and not the MIB program. Payment installment dates are set up by the university and cannot be changed. Please note there is a $15 payment plan fee that is added to the first installment and the health fee must be paid in full as it does not get split into the installments.
