In his current role at FIU, Jesus develops, implements and maintains the Division’s Business Continuity Plan, working with university level emergency management, and regularly testing its disaster recovery plans and procedures. In addition to his role as Manager, he oversees several enterprise level projects for the Division. He has been teaching the First Year Experience class (SLS 1501) for the last 12 years and recently started teaching Strategies for Success (SLS 1510). Jesus earned both a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Science in Finance from Florida International University.

Born in the U.S., Henry has lived in Brazil, India, Poland, and Portugal. Henry earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Unifra University in Brazil, and a Master of Business Administration from University Moura Lacerda also in Brazil.

Born in Guatemala, Jaly graduated from Universidad Francisco Marroquín in Guatemala with a bachelor’s in Industrial Engineering. While working as reinsurance underwriter, she began her Master of Management program at Tulane University. In 2011, she started working in the real estate industry. While working as the corporate manager, she became interested in coaching and she studied life and business coaching. She has spent the last five years working as Associate Dean in the School of Business of Universidad Francisco Marroquín, where she also teaches.

After working in the lumber industry, Juan began fifteen years at M.D. Moody & Sons, Inc., selling and renting cranes and construction equipment in Latin America. He later worked for Ring Power Corporation, selling American- and German-made cranes in South America and the Caribbean. In 2008, Juan started his own company, South American Crane, exporting cranes and components mainly to Chile and Argentina. In 2009, he started a subsidiary in Chile, becoming distributor of a main American crane manufacturer and a rental fleet operator. Juan earned both a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of International Business from Florida International University.

CEO/Managing Director | Drugmex SA
Alec is the co-founder and CEO of Drugmex, a Pharmaceutical Contract Manufacture Organization (CMO), catering to the Latin American market. Alec is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Dromex Group, a pharmaceutical enterprise with headquarters in Argentina and branches in Europe and South America. For 11 years, Alec was a senior sales and marketing executive with Dutch company DSM Anti-Infectives. Alec also has experience with the Asian pharmaceutical market and was based in Hong Kong, while working as a Sales Manager with Chemo SA. Alec has done consulting work for Chinese company Zhuhai United Laboratories Holding, Ltd. Alec holds a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) with a specialization in large animals. In addition to his own private practice, he has helped provide services for over twenty cattle ranches. In his native Argentina, Alec was involved in agricultural and livestock research and has published several papers relating to his findings. Alec also holds a Master of Business Administration and an Master in Theological Studies.

Ranjeet manages a portfolio of web-based biometric solutions developed through a globally distributed team. Before joining HID Global, he worked on TeachForAmerica’s technology solutions delivery team, which was responsible for building out multiple web-based applications as part of a five-year IT Transformation effort. Prior to joining TeachforAmerica, Ranjeet worked as Product Manager for HP. His work involved standardizing content management systems across NA, EMEA, LAR and AP regions. Ranjeet’s early years were in management consulting with IBM and MW2 consulting. Ranjeet received an engineering degree from MIT, MBA from NJIT and a Masters in Technology Management from the University of Melbourne. He is a certified Agile professional and has been a strong proponent of the Lean Methodology, which he has used to pursue his interest in entrepreneurship. He was part of the first cohort within the Startup FIU Empower Accelerator Program and has been involved in start-up weekend activities at FAU. His team was a finalist at the Annual Business Plan competition.

With more than 35 years of government service, Walter "Wally" Diaz has served in command leadership and staff positions in the military, ranging from Squadron Command to his current role as Deputy Command Surgeon at United States Southern Command. Wally provides medical readiness oversight for up to 6,000 Uniformed Service Members and DoD Civilians working in Latin America and the Caribbean; he has focused on enhancing the strategic value of US military medical activities. In addition to logistics and other certifications earned at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Pennsylvania State University, he has also earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Puerto Rico, a Master of Science from Troy University, and a MBA from Auburn University.

Maribel joined Visa in April 1996. She is responsible for all aspects of Visa’s human resources business in the Region. Her professional career in human resources spans the employment service sector, managing high profile accounts, the hospitality industry, and work as an adjunct professor for Florida International University (FIU) teaching Human Resources Management to undergraduate students. Maribel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business from Nova Southeastern University and a Master’s of Science in Human Resources Management from FIU.

In leading IBM’s client experience governance for enterprise-wide transformation, she collaborates with the company’s most senior leaders to build new insight and business model innovation and engage clients and employees in new ways. Cristina previously held several leadership roles as a managing consultant for technical and business strategy, process and organizational change, governance and business optimization. In 2016, Cristina earned the ‘Best of IBM' prestigious honor for remarkable achievements and contributions to IBM’s transformation. Cristina holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems with a Mathematics minor from Mercy College, as well as, Executive Master of Business Administration, with honors, from Florida International University.

She began her Walmart career as an hourly associate and has played key leadership roles in start-up initiatives in each of the divisions during her career. She was promoted to Regional Vice President in 2007 and promoted again to Divisional Vice President in 2010. She received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire and a Master of Business Administration in International Business from John Brown University.

Ivan earned a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management from Spring Arbor University and a Master of Business Administration from Florida International University.

The company is a global producer, marketer and distributor of fresh and fresh-cut fruit and vegetables headquartered in Coral Gables, FL. He started as a Retail Category Programs Manager with the company in 2003. Before joining Del Monte Fresh Produce N.A., Inc. Walter worked in category management roles with Coca-Cola Bottling Company and Lindt & Sprüngli in Toronto, Canada. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Western University in London, Canada and a Master of Business Administration degree in Entrepreneurial Studies and Marketing from the Schulich School of Business, York University in Toronto, Canada. Walter is originally from Toronto, Canada.

As the Chief Operating Officer at the Town of Miami Lakes, Tony is responsible for the implementation of all Town operational initiatives and policies and has provided the vision for major community development projects in parks, beautification, infrastructure, public safety and mobility. In his role, he directly oversees several Town departments including Parks, Open Spaces, and Beautification; Public Works and Capital Improvements; Police/Public Safety; and is the Smart Cities/Chief Innovation Officer. He is a recipient of several National, State, and local awards for his work in parks and recreation. Most recently, he was selected to be a part of the Miami Foundation's Miami Fellows Class X. Tony is a Certified Parks and Recreation Executive (CPRE). He possesses a Master’s degree in Parks and Recreation Management from Florida International University and a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree in Sports Administration from Saint Thomas University. He also serves as an adjunct professor at Florida International University in their Recreation and Sports Management program.

He belongs to a select group of advisors for Gerson Lehrman Group (GLG) and Third Bridge Group Limited, advising hedge funds, private equity firms, professional service funds and non-profit organizations. He is also active in consulting in two major areas within the tire industry: manufacturing and distributor channels. As an Intelligence Officer in the United States Marine Corps (USMC), he held the rank of Captain and had Top Secret security clearance and was responsible for administrative/logistical requirements for a Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) operating in the Mediterranean, five amphibious ships and a total of 2,200 Marines. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and English from Florida State University and an EMBA from FIU.

He previously spent more than 12 years in management positions at Colgate-Palmolive, CBS and Remy Martin, on brands including Speed Stick, Fab, Ajax, Remy Martin Cognac and Macallan Scotch. He has also directed fundraising for clients, such as, the Florida Oceanographic Society, members of US Congress, members of the Florida Legislature and Palm Beach County Commission. Joseph attended Florida State University and the University of Salamanca (Spain) and earned his Master of Business Administration from the University of Miami.

His duties include providing strategic leadership, administration, and technical support for NWSA high school and college staff regarding technology needs, which include office productivity applications, technical applications and support agreements. He also serves on the Miami Dade College IT Leadership, CCIO Committee, and Directors Committee, as the liaison between the NWSA and the District Information Technology Department. He has over 29 years in the IT field in various roles from creative, software development to infrastructure. Juan holds a BFA in Sculpture, Bachelor in Computer Science, and a Masters of Business Administration from Florida International University.

Prior to joining the financial services industry, he worked at New York Consulting Partners working on several projects in the US, Canada and Latin America for two Fortune 500 companies. Frederick has been ranked by Institutional Investor as one of the top analysts in Latin America in two sectors. The Financial Times ranked him as one of the top media analysts globally in 2007 for accuracy of forecasts. Frederick graduated cum laude from Dartmouth College, a Master of Science from Columbia University School of Engineering, and a Master of Science in Risk Management from NYU Stern School of Business. He holds the FRM and CFA designations. Frederick is currently an adjunct professor of finance at Florida Atlantic University.

Throughout her professional career, she has worked in the three main verticals of the Media Industry: news, entertainment and sports. In 2008, she was the Promotions and Programming Manager at GolTV. She started in Univision Communications/Univision Deportes as Director of Sports Programming in 2012, only a few months after the launch of the 24-hour cable sports network UDN. Since 2015, she has been the Senior Director of Sports Programming at Univision Communications. She has been involved in the planning and execution of major international sporting events such as 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, Copa America Centenario and UEFA Champions League. Ligia has an undergraduate degree in Communications from Florida Internation University, and a Master of Business Administration program from Nova Southeastern University.

He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Maryland and a Master of Business Administration from Florida International University. He is active with many professional organizations, including Project Management Institute, The South Florida Chapter PMI, Institute for Supply Management, and the National Contract Management Association.

Alex is responsible for directing and implementing various training initiatives to elevate the 356-acre property toward achieving higher service standards with Forbes Travel Guide. In 2018, Boca Raton Resort & Club was named Four-Stars by Forbes Travel Guide for its Boca Beach Club and Waldorf Astoria Spa, respectively. Since April 2016, Alex has served as Adjunct Professor at Florida Atlantic University in the Hospitality Management program. He received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Bombay and a Master of Business Administration from Lynn University.
