Graduate CertificatesCertificate in Cybersecurity Management

As organizations of all types face ever-increasing cybersecurity risks, their ability to efficiently and effectively manage such risks constitutes a key core competency. This 6-month certificate program focuses on developing the skills required to pursue careers in cybersecurity, by providing individuals with a deep understanding of management, procedure, policy, standards and technology of secure information systems for businesses and governments.

Applicants must have earned a bachelor’s degree with a GPA of 2.75 or higher from an accredited institution.

Applicants who hold an undergraduate degree from an institution where the language of instruction is not English must demonstrate English proficiency by taking either:

  • TOEFL (minimum scores are: 550 paper-based, 213 computer-based, and 80 internet-based)
  • IELTS (minimum score is 6.5)
  • Pearson Test of English – Academic (minimum score is 53)
  • Cambridge English – Advanced

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Microsoft Access is also highly recommended.

Students will gain a core foundation of knowledge in information security management, security policy and compliance, and security defense mechanisms and tools.

The certificate program may be completed over six months and requires completion of 15 credits (five courses).

ISM 6575 Security Risk Management and Organizational Cyber Resilience

ISM 6325 Ethical Hacking for Business

ISM 6327 Protecting and Defending Business Digital Assets

ISM 6326 Information Security: Ethics, Regulation and Compliance

Courses are offered in various formats: fully online, hybrid, or face-to-face on weekends or evenings.

Students who complete the first 12 credits of the certificate program with a GPA of 3.25 or higher, may be eligible for admission to the Master of Science in Information Systems (MSIS) degree program. Appropriate courses from the certificate program may be transferred into the MSIS degree program.

The total cost of the certificate program is $15,000, with a cost of $3,000 per course.
