Message from the Dean
Florida International University’s College of Business (FIU Business) continued to make significant strides during the 2023 – 2024 academic year. Our 9,000 diverse undergraduate and graduate students were engaged inside and outside the classroom. Our faculty continued to publish highly relevant research in the leading journals in their fields. And we connected closely with our alumni and others in the community through initiatives like our annual REact Real Estate Conference and the Florida Small Business Development Center at FIU Business.
In fall 2023, FIU Business welcomed the first class of our new MBA in Cybersecurity Risk Management program, which was developed to meet the demands of today’s global and fully digitalized business environment. We also welcomed our largest number of students with three cohorts over the fall 2023 and spring 2024 semesters in the innovative DBA program we launched six years ago.

Kemper Foundation Case Competition
Five teams of FIU students competed in May 2024 for the top prize at the Kemper Foundation Case Competition. The challenge: developing strategies for financial planning and investment banking on topics that ranged from cryptocurrency to artificial intelligence and real estate. After tallying the scores, the winning team was comprised of four FIU Business students.
Helping Students Cross the Finish Line
When Nicola Liotto, an FIU Business student from Italy, worried that his financial situation would force him to delay graduation, drop classes or even take the fall 2023 semester off, he turned to his advisor for guidance and found assistance in the Dean’s Destination Fund. He received financial help for the semester and used the funds to cover tuition.
FOUR-YEAR

The four-year graduation rate for FIU Business undergraduate students increased to 67.5% in 2023, up from 46% in 2018.
