New Director of the School of Accounting

Mark Myring has joined FIU Business as director of the School of Accounting.

In the near future, Myring looks to increase content on data analytics and technology in the accounting programs.

"The accounting profession is much more analytics driven than in years past," said Myring. "Also, the CPA exam has changed significantly and we're looking at how to enhance our program's curriculum to better prepare students for the early years of their careers."

Additionally, he will focus on external engagement with area firms in an effort to enrich students' educational experiences and establish co-curricular activities designed to guide them as they transition into the working world of accounting.

"A key to our success is to continue to build relationships with alumni and friends of the School of Accounting," said Myring. "These relationships help us maintain the currency and relevance of our curriculum and ensure our students have access to outstanding internship and employment opportunities."
