Malcom Butters (MSRE ’83), President and Co-Founder, Butters Construction & Development
Florida International University’s College of Business (FIU Business) is a world leader in real estate education and research. The Journal of Estate Literature has ranked the college’s Hollo School of Real Estate at No. 1 in the U.S. and No. 2 in the world for real estate research productivity for the past five years. In order to maintain its position at the top, FIU Business must continue to attract and retain the best real estate scholars. An initial gift of $250,000 from alumnus Malcolm Butters, plus an additional $250,000 in matching gifts, will establish a $500,000 endowment to support one faculty member who will hold the Butters Endowed Professorship.
Support a Leader in Real Estate Education and Research
FIU Business offers an undergraduate real estate major and a master’s in international real estate program, which graduate some 100 students each year. These programs balance the development of critical thinking skills with learning from solid real estate research and theory.
The college’s Hollo Real Estate Advisory Board and Bain Real Estate Council are composed of real estate industry leaders, including Malcom Butters, who help shape the curriculum and guide students through the first steps of their professional careers.
Contribute
FIU Business is seeking additional gifts to fully fund the $500,000 endowment. To date, $333,500 has been raised toward that goal. The endowment’s principal will never be expended, meaning its proceeds will support a faculty member through the Butters Endowed Professorship in perpetuity.
You can make your full gift amount today or pledge your full gift over time. Please specify your installment preference in the comment box below (i.e., I would like my commitment of $20,000 to be billed monthly over a 5-year period).
