Managing the Media

We live in a media-centric world. How the media reports your company's news can have a high impact on your business or organization. FIU's Managing the Media is a fast-paced, one-day program taught by media experts. We focus on how to communicate with the media whether your objective is to interest the press in your story or to minimize potential public relations damage during a crisis.

Highlights

Managing the Media features "hands-on" instruction. In addition to hearing lectures and receiving written materials, you will participate in a series of media interviews with real reporters and have an opportunity to view and critique your performance.
We will equip you to face basic and challenging media situations with confidence using a unique combination of practical skills training including how to

  • cultivate relationships with key media
  • prepare for an interview
  • relax in front of the camera, and
  • get your message across.
