The ASTD Certification Institute built the Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP)â„¢ credential to provide a way for workplace learning and performance professionals to prove their worth to employers and their peers and to be confident about their knowledge of the field. The ASTD (American Society for Training & Development) is the world's largest association dedicated to workplace learning and performance professionals. Members work in thousands of organizations of all sizes, in government, as independent consultants, and suppliers. Ideal Participants

Those eligible for the CPLP certification are professionals in the learning and performance field and have a minimum of three years of related work experience, although five years of related work experience is preferred.

Faculty

Kristofer Cooper, SPHR

Kristofer brings over 20 years of progressive HR and learning experiences from Fortune 500 organizations. Most recently, Kristofer led the Recruitment and Talent Management functions at Burger King Corporation. In this role, he held global human resources accountability for management development, succession planning, core skills development, diversity management, executive feedback/coaching as well as staffing, leadership, and executive learning. He supported global growth for Europe, Middle East, and Asia Pacific. Kristofer began his career at Burger King Corporation in the field, there he built and shared progressive HR practices with the franchisees. He quickly assumed greater responsibility by leading the restructuring process for the field organization where he established the HR offering, and support structure for both company and franchise restaurants. 

As a high potential, he took on an expat assignment for the Europe, Middle East, and Africa division. In this role, he integrated and built an HR function. He also co-led the team to move the European headquarters to Zug, Switzerland which positioned the organization for substantial tax savings. He designed and recommended a shared-service center for HR transactions. Kristofer also built and led the Human Resources infrastructure for the Merger and Acquisition process which enabled the organization to bring over $300 million and 250 restaurants into the portfolio.

He has been a member of Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) and Human Resources Planning Society (HRPS). He has given numerous presentations on strategic planning, human resources, and economics. He is certified in numerous coaching, instructional design, and strategic planning tools.

Tuition

The program fee of $1,295 includes tuition and the ASTD Comprehensive CPLP Learning System valued at $595.

Classes are held at the Modesto A. Maidique Campus, located at 11200 S.W. 8th Street, Miami. This location is convenient and easily accessible from the Florida Turnpike and the S.W. 8th Street Exit. Directions

Once you have registered, you will receive an email confirming your place in the program.

Registration and Withdrawal Policies

Payment Policy: Program fees are due in full upon acceptance into the program.

Substitution Policy: Qualified substitutes for participants can be accommodated with advance written notice.

Withdrawal Policy: Due to costs associated with establishing, holding, and replacing participant slots, the following guidelines will be implemented:

  • 1 week prior the program: the participant will be charged 50% of the program fee.
  • 2 - 4 weeks prior the program: the participant will be charged 25% of the program fee.
  • The remainder of the above mentioned will be transferred to another program upon receipt of written notice.
