James R. Bussey,
Chief of Staff
Executive Dean's Office
College of Business Administration
Bussey is the chief of staff to the Executive Dean of the College of Business Administration, Florida International University. In this capacity, he serves on various community boards and committees on behalf of the college and the university. He also is an internal advisor to the college, improving processes and preparing the organization for its anticipated growth. Previously, he was the chairman of the advisory board for StrataSys, a consulting firm (3 years); the chief information officer for Carnival Cruise Lines (22 years), and the co-founder/chief operating officer of a business-to-business Internet company, CruisePath.com (1 year).
Bussey earned a Bachelor of Science in Hotel Management from Cornell University and moved to South Florida in 1966. He earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Florida International University in 1999, and joined the Executive Dean's office in 2004.
Schedule
Thursday – Friday, June 12 - 13, 2008, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Thursday – Friday, August 28 - 29, 2008, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Thursday – Friday, November 6 - 7, 2008, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Tuition
The program fee of $695 includes tuition and instructional materials. The fee is subject to change and is payable in advance.
Location
Classes are held at the University Park Campus, located at 11200 S.W. 8th Street, Miami. This location is convenient and easily accessible from the Florida Turnpike and the S.W. 8th Street Exit.

Fax your completed registration form and payment information to 305-348-3628. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover Card or an employer invoice.
By telephone
Please call our office at 305-348-4217, Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and we will take your registration and payment information. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover Card.
In person
Come to the Office of Professional and Executive Education, Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and we can process your application. Our location is College of Business Administration, 11200 S.W. 8th Street, CBC 223, Miami, Florida 33199-0001.
Once you have registered, you will receive an email confirming your place in the program.
Registration and Withdrawal Policies
Payment Policy: Program fees are due in full upon acceptance into the program
Substitution Policy: Qualified substitutes for participants can be accommodated with advance written notice.
Withdrawal Policy: Due to costs associated with establishing, holding, and replacing participant slots, the following guidelines will be implemented:
- 1 week prior the program: the participant will be charged 50% of the program fee.
- 2 - 4 weeks prior the program: the participant will be charged 25% of the program fee.
- The remainder of the above mentioned will be transferred to another program upon receipt of written notice.
