Beginning with our benefactor, the Knight Ridder organization,
we draw on rich ties with a growing network of business professionals
as well as academic scholars of business throughout The Americas
and beyond.
Our recent work has included:
- studies of the impact of terrorism and anti-terrorism mandates
on global business
- work on the impact of globalization on Florida's workforce,
industry, and environment, and
- a role in the Winrock/John Oganowski Farmer-to-Farmer Program
helping farmers in Honduras and Guatemala run their businesses
and export crops.
We also provide expertise through several economic development
initiatives to improve agribusiness and trade practices for various
groups, including the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on
Agriculture (IICA) and CAFTAction. Many of our professors are sought
after as guest speakers overseas on issues such as trade practices,
energy conservation, and emerging technologies.
International Advisory Services Group (IASG)
The center houses the International Advisory Services Group, which
serves as its principal management consulting and training coordination
arm. IASG helps clients achieve their business goals and also enables
faculty and students to share their knowledge of the latest business
principles and technologies.
The IASG also offers executive seminars on a variety of topics,
such as "How to Export to the United States."
