The Professional or Senior Professional in Human Resources (PHR/SPHR) Certification is a prestigious, nationally recognized credential. FIU's PHR and SPHR Preparation program featuring the SHRM Learning System® Course is an intensive program designed primarily for individuals seeking certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR®) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR®) The program will ensure that you are have the knowledge and skills to pass the PHR or SPHR exam (administered by the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI))
This program is a thorough review of the six areas designated most important by the HRCI. You and your fellow participants will have the benefit of experienced FIU instructors coupled with a superior exam prep system comprised of interactive and other study materials.
Once you have acquired your PHR or SPHR certification, you join an elite rank of professionals in the HR field—eligible for the most interesting HR positions and entitled to use the HRCI credential on business cards and in correspondence.

Ideal Participants
PHR and SPHR certification is intended for professionals who have at least two years of exempt-level (professional) HR work experience. To be eligible to take either exam, candidates must demonstrate that:
- at least 51 percent of their daily activities are within the human resource function and
- those activities are at the exempt (professional) level.

Class size is limited. We encourage you to register early to reserve your place in the class.
By telephone
Please call our office at 305-348-4217, Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and we will take your registration and payment information. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover Card.
In person
Come to the Office of Professional and Executive Education, Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and we can process your application. Our location is College of Business Administration, 11200 S.W. 8th Street, CBC 223, Miami, Florida 33199-0001.
Once you have registered, you will receive an email confirming your place in the program.
Registration and Withdrawal Policies
Payment Policy: Program fees are due in full upon acceptance into the program.
Substitution Policy: Qualified substitutes for participants can be accommodated with advance written notice.
Withdrawal Policy: Due to costs associated with establishing, holding, and replacing participant slots, the following guidelines will be implemented:
- 1 week prior the program: the participant will be charged 50% of the program fee.
- 2 - 4 weeks prior the program: the participant will be charged 25% of the program fee.
- The remainder of the above mentioned will be transferred to another program upon receipt of written notice.
