Message From Faculty Advisors

ENACTUS is a world-wide community of student, academic and business leaders committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to transform lives and shape a better, more sustainable world. We believe when teams compete, the stakes are higher and the outcomes improved. We provide a platform for teams of outstanding university student leaders to create community development projects that put people’s own ingenuity and talents at the center of improving their lives. Guided by educators, supported by business leaders, and armed with important theoretical frameworks, these students leave the comfort of the classroom, to plunge directly into projects that improve the lives of others – not by handing out help, but by taking the kind of entrepreneurial approach that empowers people to be a part of their own success.

FIU ENACTUS team members are change-makers, committed to creating a better world with student leaders who have the ability and are willing to put forth the effort to make a meaningful contribution, while working in mutually beneficial ways to improve the quality of life and standard of living in their communities.

FIU ENACTUS students form teams and develop outreach projects that use the power of business concepts and entrepreneurial action to advance the mission of projects that originate in either the classroom or other arenas. They do this by finding synergies among the various projects, gathering the resources of their institutions and external partners to implement programs that create sustainable and profitable opportunities for members of their communities. They help budding entrepreneurs get their business plans off the ground, connecting them with like-minded individuals and business advisory board members, inspiring them to reach for their dreams.

The effectiveness of their organization is judged at competition locally, nationally and internationally. At competition, ENACTUS teams present the results of their educational outreach projects and compete to determine which team had the greatest impact and success in creating economic opportunity for others. Competitions create networking opportunities that bring together current business leaders looking for tomorrow’s innovative and creative leaders.
