International Business faculty member recognized among the most productive and influential scholars in his field.

Fred Walumbwa

(September 11, 2019) Ochieng (Fred) Walumbwa, associate professor in the Department of International Business, has been recognized as the fifth most productive leadership scholar during the period 2004 to 2010, and the 11th most influential leadership scholar during the period 1990 through 2017, in a paper recently published in The Leadership Quarterly. The article, titled “A computerized approach to understanding leadership research,” written by H. Zhao and C. Li, appeared in Volume 30, Issue 4 of the publication, pp. 396-416. Walumba received his PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign His main research focuses on understanding how effective leaders emerge, evolve and develop, and how different clusters of leadership enhance or inhibit workplace climates.
