International Business Professor Receives Prestigious Academy of Management Award

(May 3, 2021) Stav Fainshmidt, Knight Ridder Eminent Scholar and associate professor of international business at Florida International University (FIU) has received the 2021 Academy of Management IM Division FIU Emerging Scholar Award. The award recognizes the contribution to international management scholarship by a junior scholar. Fainshmidt is the first FIU faculty member to receive the award since it was established six years ago. He joins an outstanding group of prior winners:

2018 - Prithwiraj Choudhury, Harvard Business School and Sinziana Dorobantu, New York University

2017 - Elena Kulchina, Duke University

2016 - Ilya Cuypers, Singapore Management University and Exequiel Hernandez, University of Pennsylvania

Fainshmidt’s research interests include institutions and governance, organizational capabilities and methods in organizational research. His work appears in publications including Journal of International Business Studies, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Management, Administrative Science Quarterly (forthcoming), Journal of Management Studies, Journal of World Business, and Organization Studies. He is currently a reviewing editor at Journal of World Business and a consulting editor at Journal of International Business Studies. Prior to joining FIU, Fainshmidt worked with Deloitte (Isr.).
