FIU's Professor Walumbwa, Phd Candidate Misati Earn Best Paper Honor

(July 17, 2018) A paper by Fred Walumbwa, professor of management and international business, has been selected as one of the best papers for the upcoming Academy of Management (AOM) Annual Meeting. The paper, "Creative Self-efficacy and Creative Performance: Understanding the Underlying Mechanisms," finds that thriving at work partially mediates the relationship between creative self-efficacy and creative performance. The paper is co-authored by FIU Business PhD student Everlyne Misati along with Amanda Christensen-Salem of the University of Cincinnati and I-Chieh Hsu of National Changhua University of Education in Taiwan.

Walumbwa has authored or co-authored more than 90 academic technical reports, book chapters, and research papers in a wide range of prestigious journals in business, management, and psychology. He was recently recognized as one of the top 2 percent most influential authors in industrial and organizational psychology globally.

AOM is the preeminent professional association for managerial and organization scholars. Its Annual Meeting will be held in August 10 - 14 in Chicago.
