Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certificate Program with ProjectFrequently Asked Questions

FIU Executive Education offers non-credit certificate programs to allow business professionals to enhance their professional development. Therefore, at the conclusion of our program, you will receive a certificate of completion from FIU Business. Our programs do not award college credits and may not be taken as a part of a current academic program in which you may be enrolled. The registration and payment for our programs are handled directly through our website. Any programs that are taken through our office will not appear on MyFIU, and will therefore, not appear on your transcript. In addition, you will not need to apply through the university as a whole and with an application fee.

Participants in our Lean Six Sigma Black Belt program must have a Lean or Six Sigma Green Belt prior to the start of the Black Belt program. The Green Belt does not need to be from FIU. If you already have a Green Belt issued by FIU Executive Education, we will have a copy of your certificate. If your Green Belt organization or a different unit of FIU, we will request a copy of your Green Belt certificate after you register. Aside from the Green Belt certificate, there are no prerequisites regarding test scores, transcripts and GPA requirements.

You may register for this and all FIU Executive Education programs directly through our web site, ExecEd.fiu.edu. There, you will see information about all our programs. To register, be sure to click on the specific program in which you want to register.

There is no fee to apply to the program. The only fee is to take the program.

Space in the program is provided on a first-come, first-serve basis and is limited to no more than 15 participants. Please note that registrations are not confirmed until fully paid.

Approximately 5 hours outside class time.

To earn the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certificate of completion, participants must complete the program within the allotted course time, complete all assignments and participate in at least 80% of the live online sessions.

No certificate is provided until the learner meets all the requirements for earning a certificate. If a participant can not complete the program and earn the certificate due to an emergency situation, he or she should discuss the situation with the program coordinator to see if arrangements can be made to help the participant successfully complete the course.
