Welcome to DESRIST 2014
Design Science Research in Information Systems and Technologies (DESRIST) 2014 Conference
Location: Miami, Florida, USA
Date: May 22-23, 2014
Theme: Advancing the Impact of Design Science: Moving from Theory to Practice
As design science research in Information Systems matures, the focus is shifting from searching for legitimacy to informing practice and education. Recent exemplars include work by:
- Reinecke and Bernstein in MIS Quarterly (2013). The authors investigate automatically designing interfaces that take into account cultural adaptivity. They create a web interface prototype and evaluate its effectiveness using subjects from three culturally diverse countries.
- Currim and Ram in Information Systems Research (2012). The authors propose modeling constructs to support spatial and temporal constraints during conceptual database design. The framework’s expressiveness and utility with a case study.
The goal of the design science research paradigm is to extend the boundaries of human and organizational capabilities by designing new and innovative constructs, models, methods, processes, and systems. Scholars from different backgrounds – such as information systems, computer science, software engineering, energy informatics and medical informatics – are actively engaged in generating novel solutions to interesting design problems in Information Systems.
We invite the submission of completed research, research-in-progress, panels, prototypes and demos to DESRIST 2014, which will be held May 22-23, 2014 in Miami.
Please use our EasyChair system to submit full research and research-in-progress papers. The deadline for submitting research and research-in-progress papers has been extended. Please see the Important Dates page for new deadlines.
For instructions on submitting panel proposals, see Panel Proposals.
For instructions on product and prototype submissions, see Products and Prototypes.
For instructions on doctoral consortium submissions, see Doctoral Consortium.
