Manages all aspects of a portfolio including identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of assigned prospects.
  • Working closely with supervisor and collaborates with internal departments, including but not limited to, Development, Gift Services, Prospect Research, and Alumni Relations to develop comprehensive strategies for assigned prospects. Works creatively, thoughtfully, and strategically to ask and secure increased gifts from an assigned portfolio of donors and to develop a prospect pipeline for consideration as major and planned giving targets.
  • Participating in regular individual portfolio review and group sessions related to portfolio management and strategic travel. Organizes efficient trips for the purpose of meaningful and strategic donor interactions each fiscal year within assigned geographical regions.
  • Participates in on-campus and off-campus events/activities outside of normal business hours as appropriate for the purpose of donor qualification, cultivation and stewardship.
  • Enters all pertinent information including descriptive contact reports, future steps, and plans within designated time frame into Raiser's Edge. Maintains up-to-date information in Raiser's Edge on significant prospect contacts regarding solicitations and evaluations including capacity, prospect interests, and demographic changes.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience related to community relations, not for profit, fundraising environment, and/or related organization.

Desired Qualifications

  • An understanding and working knowledge of Raiser's Edge or a relational database system.
  • Ability to take initiative and be a self-starter.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances in a complex environment.
  • Ability to function independently yet relate comfortably to a multifaceted fundraising environment, participating in and contributing to a total team effort.
  • Prior work in either annual giving or special event fundraising.
